Questions & Answers
These 32oz bottles are the only ones I've ever seen.
It's best to apply the paint to a dry, freshly mowed lawn and let it dry for at least 4 hours in direct sunlight. It held off the rain after that, but the super green only lasted about a month, not three as advertised.
What you're asking is a little unclear to me. I believe you're curious about whether it'll streak. if it's possible that it'll take off? It's a very light color. A mist or stream setting is available on the applicator. This alone indicates that the paint/dye is fairly thin. I've used it on grass, boxwoods, and evergreens, among other things. When you apply it to something that is verticle, it has the potential to stripe. That's actually a good thing on grass because it gives it a more natural appearance. I hope this information is useful.
Selected User Reviews For Grass Paint Concentrate (500-1,000 sq ft) - for Dormant, Patchy or Faded Lawn - Lush Green Turf Colorant (32 fl oz)
Was I ever mistaken? I chose LawnStar after reading reviews for at least a hundred other grass paints. Let's look at the advantages and disadvantages. PRO: 1) It's extremely simple to use. In a 5 gallon bucket, I mixed half of the bottle and it turned out beautifully. It looks very natural. 2) Spraying is not difficult. I removed the small filter knob from my sprayer because the paint globbed up, but that was due to my poor mixing. 3) It dries very quickly. 4) Their customer service is among the best I've encountered in recent years. I received a bottle that had been tampered with during shipping and had leaked. They sent me a brand new bottle the next day after I informed them of the problem. 5) It stays on for months after it has dried. The disadvantages are: br>br> 1) The use of it is addictive. Because I spray any yellow grass blades that appear, I now have the greenest grass in the neighborhood. 2) Your partner will expect you to keep the lawn in good shape. 3) If you don't wear gloves when mixing, your fingers will turn green, and you'll have to endure jokes from your family and friends about how good a gardener you are because of your; thumbs up; 4) Your neighbors will constantly inquire as to how you maintain such a lush lawn. They knock on the door, seriously. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> We relocated to a new location with a significantly colder climate. The grass is a distasteful yellow/brown color. This dead grass can be found in every home in this neighborhood. Granted, it's December and the temperature is in the 30s, so everything is dormant. So, I went to these guys and bought two new bottles of grass paint, and in about three hours, I covered my entire front yard with half of one bottle. I didn't want it to look like AstroTurf green, so I went with a regular green instead. My yard is lush and green in the midst of a sea of yellow and dead yards. In case you're interested, here's a little something to think about. You can have a very nice lush yard if you mow your grass on the second highest setting.
Due to the California drought, I had to stop watering my lawn; however, the product was simple to use and even enjoyable. br>br>Cut your grass first! It's pointless to paint long, dead grass. br>br>Read the instructions carefully and follow them. br>br>Avoid dripping on unsealed concrete at all costs. It immediately stains. To keep it from getting on the sidewalk, I used a large sheet of cardboard as a straight edge. br>br>10th UPDATED 15br>I decided to give Enviro Color lawn paint a try. It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. The color didn't match as well as it should have, and the thick pigment clogged up my sprayer. It took a long time to clean it, and it's still partially blocked. I'd go with the LawnStar option. br>.
I was really looking forward to getting my hands on this lawn paint. I purchased a 15-dollar, 2-pack of cigarettes. I bought a gallon sprayer at a department store and was ready to go. Before I started painting, I mowed my lawn to make it look presentable. As recommended, I sprayed the bricks around the grass area with water to prevent any spillage from staining them. Before mixing the grass paint with water in my sprayer, I gave it a good shake. I also made use of a cut-out. When I sprayed there, I used a cardboard box to protect the edges. My grass sprayer became clogged after about 5 minutes of spraying. Whoops. I had no idea why and assumed it was because of a pressure issue with the pump sprayer. I went to a different department store right away to get a 2 gallon sprayer from a different brand. This one worked a lot better, but it clogged up near the end. I aimed for a 10:1 ratio. Concentrate in 1:1 ratio. I had just enough paint in the 32 oz concentrate to cover my front grass patch. Overall, I spent most of the morning painting (about 3 hours), and my back hurt from bending over to keep the sprayer a few inches off the ground. br>br>After finishing my front lawn, I cleaned both of my 2 gallon sprayers and discovered a small clog where the paint mixture enters the tubing at the base of both sprayers. There was a small green rubbery residue that I had to pick off and clean before it dried, or my sprayers would have been toast. br>br>The grass was a slightly darker shade of green than I had anticipated; I live in the Southwest, so perhaps the green paint would have better matched grass in other climates. I was hoping the paint mixture would last a little longer because I was planning on doing a patch in my backyard as well. Overall, I am pleased with the product and am relieved to have a lush green lawn in front of my house. To avoid destroying the roots, I plan to water it once a week for 15 minutes. I'll probably buy it again, but I'm going to try a different brand of paint to see which shade works best for me.
br>br>My lawn was suffering from SEVERE drought and yellowing, so I had no choice but to purchase it. br>br>And believe me when I say it's as good as everyone else's! br>br>I've included photos to show how my lawn now looks after just ONE application of Lawn Star Paint. br>br>It was simple to put together; I used Chapin 20000-1. Use a gallon of lawn spray and apply about 3-inches of it to the grass. 1 gallon of water and 4 tablespoons of Lawn Star br>br>I came up with the idea of using a light paint mixture: In 1 gallon of water, do not use too much paint. It was a total success! br>br> br>br>I'm going to get a second bottle to use for the front of the house because my lawn looks this good with just ONE bottle! br>br>In one of the photos, I purposefully left the LEFT side of the grass (a small strip of yellow by the fence) unpainted so that the contrast could be seen. br>br>Highly recommended!.
