It fits in a Kuretake No. 1 pen as well as certain Platinum fountain pens. Brush pen 13/40/50. Maintains a good supply of ink; The main selling point of a converter is the ability to refill a pen without having to buy a new cartridge; it's not as much as an ink cartridge, but it's enough to write for a decent amount of time; anyway, the main selling point of a converter is the ability to refill a pen without having to buy a new cartridge. Fill it about 1/3 to halfway with ink while it's attached to a pen, then remove it from the ink bottle and fill it the rest of the way with air. Then, tip the pen upwards with the nib/brush tip up, and use the piston to force all of the air out of the converter (you'll know it's done when the nib starts releasing ink again). Then put it back in the ink bottle and finish filling it.

Three platinum converters have simply ceased to function for me. I've reached the point where owning platinum pens is no longer worthwhile. Not when there are so many other brands that make excellent pens and converters.
The ink converter from Platinum hasn't changed in a long time, but I'm blown away by how well this one is built. It's a little pricey for an ink converter, but I'm not aware of any other ink converter that will work with Platinum pens. Given that I don't have a choice, I'm glad it works so well. All ink converters should be able to do the job.
When you try to clean it, water runs straight through to the back, causing the seal to fail.
The metal ball in the cartridges, it turns out, is the key to Platinum's flawless ink flow. The converter lacks that magical steel ball, and the ink passes through the nib far too quickly - The paper was saturated with ink, and the converter only lasted 5 pages instead of the 10 pages per cartridge.
It looked exactly like the original piston filler when I first opened it, and it now functions flawlessly. I'd buy it again if I had the opportunity.
I bought two of these to use in a Platinum 3776 and a carbon desk pen, and they do everything a converter is supposed to do: Replace the cartridges as needed, they hold a good amount of ink, and they don't leak. If you're using it as a demonstrator pen, the gold plating adds a touch of class.
