Questions & Answers

Is this converter compatible with the Cross Straford fountain pen? Please inform me, and if it is available, I will purchase it. Thank you for your time and consideration, and have a wonderful day?

Except for the Townsend and the Classic Century (which has a very thin barrel), this converter should work in all Cross pens. The Townsends have their own converter, and the barrel on the Classic Century is too small to accommodate one - These require a slim cartridge that is only compatible with the Classic Century and not with other Cross pens.

Is this compatible with a Waterman Expert (S0951660)? Thanks! ?

I don't own a Waterman Expert, but it doesn't fit any of my other Waterman pens.

Not by a Long Shot: Cross Bailey Extra Fine Nib Fountain Pen in Light Polished Gray Resin The Cross Bailey RED Fountain Pen is compatible with this converter
3/5

With the Cross Bailey Light Polished Gray Resin Fountain, it doesn't work, or even comes close to working. EVEN THOUGH THE TWO ARE COMBINEDLY ADVERTISED ON AMAZON! So, I gave the converter five stars when it was used with the Red, but if I could, I'd give it zero stars if it had been purchased for the Gray. If I could, I'd give Amazon and Pilot a zero for their lack of diligence.

Are you concerned about the environment? Get one

These are, to put it bluntly, expensive. br>Pens should be included as well. br>br>Apart from that, they get the job done. br>br>I despise disposable products. br>Converters help to reduce waste. br>It doesn't bother me that Cross, like other pen manufacturers, uses proprietary cartridges. br>The evolution of camera lenses is a good example of this. br>Thank you very much. br>An important point to keep in mind: Refilling used disposable cartridges is possible until the seals break down.

The glass has a smoky flavor to it
3/5

The converter works in the same way as any other piston converter, and I like how it attaches to the pen with a screw. Because the glass is tinted, it appears to be a smoke color, I'm only giving it three stars rather than four. It's difficult to tell how much ink is still in the converter because it's tinted. Because I don't use different colors in my pens, I usually try to refill them before they run out of ink. It's difficult to see how much ink is left because of the tint on this converter. However, I discovered that if you hold it up to a bright light, you can see how much is left. If it were a clear converter, I would give it four stars.

I purchased this converter for my Cross Bailey Medalist fountain pen, and it works perfectly
5/5

It works perfectly, and it's less expensive than buying cartridges because it allows you to use any fountain pen ink on the market rather than just Cross ink. How cost-effective is it? If the converter is set to 0, the result is 0. A standard, $10, 50 ml bottle of ink would yield about 75 - 80 ml of ink (which is pretty close, in my opinion). There are 90 refills available. Only about 12 cartridges can be purchased for the same $10. br>br>I had read some reviews that claimed the converter leaked or didn't generate enough vacuum, but the majority of the complaints were about it not drawing ink all the way to the top of the converter. It simply cannot be done. When the piston is fully extended, it does not reach the end of the converter tube, where it mates with the feed, so there is air space at the bottom of the converter tube. That air is drawn upward ahead of the ink when the piston is retracted, and there is no way to expel it. As a result, drawing ink all the way to the top of the converter is impossible. This is true of almost all fountain pen converters, by the way.

Screw- The Bailey fountain pen will fit in the converter
5/5

Regarding whether the screw-in (8756) converter will fit in the Bailey fountain pen, I've received conflicting responses. I peered into the nib of the pen- I noticed interior threading on the side barrel and decided to take a chance and order it. It fits! br>The pen included a push-button mechanism. I was concerned that the push-in cartridges (8921,) would be damaged. There would be a need for a converter in this case.

It performs admirably
5/5

For a Cross Century II fountain pen, I purchased this converter. It was simple to set up and performs admirably. It appears to be a well-made product, and I expect it to last a long time without leaking or the piston mechanism failing, based on my previous experience.

It isn't as good as the others I have
3/5

I have several fountain pens and always use converters because they give me more options when it comes to ink colors. Despite taking it off and re-putting it on, it's different from the others I've had. Even if you seat multiple times, it will not be completely full. I can only get half of the chamber to fill despite screwing the piston all the way to the top. The ink is drawn in level with the bottom of the piston at first, but when it reaches halfway, it stops, and the piston simply moves to the top of the chamber, but the ink does not follow.

Works
4/5

I'm irritated that Cross fountain pens don't include these, and I'm having trouble filling them to capacity. The Cross fountain pens I have are heavy, feel nice, and write well in either hand, so these are a necessary extra expense to use an otherwise outstanding product.
