Questions & Answers

Is the twine of a particular diameter?

The twine measures 1/8 inch in diameter. It's ideal for tying herb bundles together or trussing chickens and turkeys.

Is it safe to use this cotton twine for an 80-pound whole hog roast, as long as it doesn't come into contact with a direct flame?

Without a doubt. Although it is a strong twine, it will be burned if exposed to direct flame.

How big is the roll as a whole? I'm not sure if it'll fit in the holder I'm considering. ?

The twine balls are three in number. The diameter is 5 inches. It's a good heavy cotton twine with a hole punched in the plastic wrapper to allow for easy removal. If your holder isn't too small, it should be sufficient.

Is this going to fit in a 16oz mason jar with a wide mouth?

No, I do not believe that is true. I bought it for my wife a few years ago for tying up the turkey after stuffing it, but if my memory serves me correctly, the ball is too large in circumference to fit in a 16-ounce jar.

It was well worth the money
5/5

This product was created in the United States. When it comes to anything that comes into contact with our food, especially something that will be exposed to heat, we prefer to purchase a high-quality product made in the United States, where safety and manufacturing standards are higher. We won't have to be concerned about contaminating our food this way - you know: high levels of lead, trace chemicals such as formaldehyde, and other freebies from low-cost manufacturers.

Extremely difficult - I use this primarily for recycling boxes because it is much stronger than twine
5/5

When I was tying jute twine, it would occasionally break. This string is MUCH stronger and easier to use than the previous one. The method of dispense is excellent- Remove the plastic only if it is absolutely necessary. br>br>NOTE: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be For this review, I paid full retail price and got nothing in return.

It should be solid twine, not the soft kind that frays and breaks when used
5/5

I'm pretty happy with it after a couple of days of using it to tie roasts and other things. When you need to tighten a knot, it holds up well, cuts cleanly with a knife, and does not fray. a strong, long-lasting twine that is ideal for butchering. A lot of "butcher's twine" appears to be designed for wrapping Christmas presents rather than actual use.

I bought these to use as tags for items at a consignment fair, and they worked great. I used a rustic finish on my items.

It's not always about the big things in life; sometimes it's about the little things

Excellent in every way- type string for general use Soft, strong, and biodegradable - this material has it all
5/5

win! This is an excellent cotton string that is both strong and soft. We used it to hang a lot of things at my wedding, as well as to tie up sponge bombs for a water fight (it was a beach wedding). ) We were relieved to learn that it was nearly biodegradable if any were left behind on the beach, but I'll buy this again whenever I need a hefty string because it performed admirably in all of our applications.

Spit roasting is a great way to use this product
5/5

I had looked locally for this, but the price at the grocery and hardware store was ridiculously high for the amount of twine, whereas this ball has enough twine to last nearly a lifetime for a great price, and I use it frequently for trussing chicken and sizing roasts to put on a spit roaster. Twine lasts a long time and doesn't burn. To house the twine and keep it clean, I used an empty plastic container from a bird supply store that had previously held a large block of suet. I punched a hole in the top and threaded twine through it before cutting off what I needed. Keeps the ball free of raw chicken gunk.
