It's not nearly as thick as it appears. It's not as thick as yarn, but it's thicker than Stampin Up bakers twine, which is equivalent to four parts embroidery floss. It's about the same thickness as the heavy-duty specialty floss in the larger pearlized wrapper.

I really like how it looks and how affordable it is to buy such a large roll. br>br>I've bought it four times now. Three times in a row - The black and white stripes are more loosely twisted and appear a bit fuzzy, almost as if they're old? This can hold back quite a few boxes without snapping during a time when you find yourself ordering online more frequently, whether it's due to the pandemic, a move, or simply shopping. This is fine if all you need is a decorative string; however, if you're looking for "twine," this is not it. With the tiniest amount of pressure, it snaps - a thread from the past This didn't work for me because I was looking for something more powerful.

I've never had a bad experience with it. I use it to make small mats, tie things together that I'm gluing together, sew things that require something thicker than thread (like the edges of a model canoe), and even rig primitive sailboats.
