It's not quite as thick as twine, but it's a lot more substantial than upholstery thread. My not-so-stellar performance was hampered by the fact that I A precise plastic caliper measures 1 mm thick (or 1/32 inch if you prefer SAE).

This isn't rope; it's twine for sails.
It's used to keep a rope from unraveling by whipping the ends. Whipping a YT cord or a rope is referred to as YT cord or rope whipping.

It's exactly what the page says it is: a needle and high-quality wax thread on a spool. It's made in the United States as well. I used it to make eye splices in a spool of three-strand nylon rope. I prefer to use the old method of whipping with wax thread rather than melting my splices. If I had one complaint, it would be that the Max is a tad too slimy. This might be a good thing, but I'm used to a wax thread that is stiffer and chalkier. In any case, the splice I used for this was used all summer to support over 100 pounds of weight and was almost always submerged in fresh water. I checked the whipping at the beginning of the fall season, and it appears to be brand new.
It's really good! As a former Navy man and a long-time commercial fisherman, I always keep this type of cordage on hand for a variety of uses around the house. Stronger than regular dental floss and superior to any thread. br>br>However, I'll have to place an order for a sewing palm. Certain materials are difficult for the needle to penetrate.
Whipping the ends of rope with thin, waxed cord is a breeze. I used it to whirl the ends of half-lengths of half-lengths of half-lengths inch 3- When the rope is long, it is made of strands of natural fiber. Rope splicing is the process of joining two ropes together. I wanted the splices to look as real and smooth as possible because I'm going to use the rope to make furniture. This cord has a color that is very similar to natural jute/hemp and blends in well. It's thin, so it doesn't add a lot of bulk to the spliced area, which I like.
It was made up of two tiny little hooks on each end that needed to be strung together. I needed something that was stronger than string but not as hard as wire, so I wouldn't rip my fingers. This was successful. It's light and delicate, but it's a powerful weapon. It'll be up for the foreseeable future. I'm able to move things around without putting a single screw or twine through its paces.
This is the real deal, and it will come in handy when you need to repair sails, tents, or other heavy fabric items. Very useful to have in your boat's emergency kit, camping equipment or camper, emergency backpack, or around your house or farm. It's a nice touch that the appropriate needle is included. It will be much easier to use this with heavy material if you have a Sailmaker's Palm and an awl in your kit.
I've used it for a lot of projects, and I'm sure I'll use it for more in the future. The color is exactly as shown, and the string is extremely long-lasting. br>The best application I've found for it was whipping rope on a dual-purpose machine. I made this two-sided snaphook leash to keep my hands free while walking my dog. This type of leash would have cost me $70 if I had bought it from a store or boutique, but with this string and a few snap hooks, I was able to make one for less than a quarter of the price.
This product resolved the issue and improved it to the point where it was as good as new. The needle provided was perfect and strong, and it was easy to work with.
Bugout bags, packs, trucks, tackle boxes, and other gear in my shop aren't just for repairing ripped sails or twining rope and line ends. It has an infinite number of applications! br>Excellent Value for the Money$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
