Don't get me wrong: it's a good rope. Hemp, not jute, is used here. I understand that this isn't important to most people, but it is to me, and this was advertised as natural jute rope in several places. br>br>Also, the spool is 115 feet long, not the advertised 119 feet. Again, it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but I get irritated by inaccurate advertisements. br>br>However, the rope is 4mm thick, as ordered, and appears to be as durable as hemp rope. I'd give it five stars if that's what I'd ordered.
There is no way I will trust this product with my cats. Cats groom themselves, so having them scratch a post covered in this stuff is bound to be hazardous to their health. It's returning to its previous position.
Jute is fantastic. Extremely durable and well constructed! I used larger drilled holes in the wood beads from Woodpeckers on Amazon (a great product) because they had larger drilled holes. I simply wrapped the end of the jute with scotch tape (otherwise it would have frayed and made trying to get the jute through the beads extremely frustrating) and attached a small safety pin to the taped end to aid in guiding it through the holes in the beads. It was incredibly straightforward! I would buy it again without hesitation!.
For any kind of playtime use, it requires a lot of conditioning!.
Prior to the holidays in 2020, I purchased my first roll. My baskets were made out of twine/hemp. Great product that is both durable and cost-effective. This was my second order, and this time I ordered two rolls, with the expectation of ordering more in the future. It was also delivered quickly.
I bought it so that the twine on the pots would match. It worked perfectly!.
For my hammock lines, it worked out perfectly. I needed to match the original rope's color, so it was a little scratchy. For the price, this is still a good product.
I bought this to replace frayed twine on my cat's scratching post; it's very sturdy and easy to work with, and it doesn't have as much odor as other twine I've used. And the roping is of good quality.
