Considering 1" of thickness, is that thick enough, and is it strong enough? The particle board used here may not be particle board as we know it, but more like corrugated wafer board. Although heavier than particle board, the sheet is not heavy enough to be considered particle board.

can get a much better deal at IKEA than with this product. It feels a little weak after following the instructions on how to assemble it. According to the instructions, the shelves should each be able to hold 30 lbs.
