I have not tried the scanning feature yet but I printed out 125 pages with the printer. To test out the workbook, I colored some pages from my daughter's homeschool math textbook. In terms of overall appearance, the workbook seems professional and almost stunning. There are a few errors in the printout of the page numbers and headers. I really like this printer with a lot of useful features for small office settings, but the Eco and Sleep settings are terrible It appears that sleep mode only turns off the display during sleep. In addition, the toner element is not turned off nor is the cooling fan shut off. In other words, you can expect a steady 6dB fan noise from the unit it has been idle for however long it has been. Although this is ok in an office environment, it is not ok in a home office, since the noise is disruptive, the energy is wasted, and the noise is not necessary. In the event of the printer going to sleep, all functions should be shut down except for networking (which can still be passively cooled). Running a fan just to run a fan is an extremely wasteful energy efficiency design decision.
