Unless you are using an official toner cartridge reset tool, you cannot reset toner. It is not possible to reset the toner. It would have been better if I hadn't replaced my last brother printer with this one. It was the only reason I remained loyal to Brother because we were able to reset the toner so we could always get at least twice the life out of the cartridges before they needed to be replaced. I've had the printer for a little over two weeks. I have printed over 200 sheets so far I am half way through the 300-page book and am loving I really like the fact that the printer prints very quickly, is auto-duplexing, and the colors look fantastic. This printer is much quieter than my HP printer, and I can even set it to be more silent than usual by using Brother's "quiet mode" (see photo). Although it does slow down the printer only slightly, it's nice to have this option. Since I'm up very early, I don't want my family to be woken up to print in the morning. My monochrome Brother laser printer is aging, so I bought this Brother color laser to replace it. All of my devices work after installation, and it was easy to set up. My old printer was slower than this one, but it has color capability as well. If it hadn't been for one incident, it would have been five stars. While sitting on the patio of my house, I tried to print an email from my iPhone. I wasn't near the printer to hear it work, so I was unable to hear it. I cannot figure out how it managed to consume an entire tray of paper, and every page was filled with gibberish. It is impossible for me to trust it to print unless I am at my desk or at least close to hear the printer running.
