The ink is stored on a roll of ribbon. There is no such thing as an ink cartridge. They include two replacement or refill rolls with your purchase. I hope this information is useful.
There is no answer device in this machine, and it will not interfere with another answer machine if they are properly connected and set. I purchased the fax machine solely for the purpose of sending faxes, and I only receive them if I am aware that one is being sent. Sam
Simply make a setting adjustment. If it's set to fax, it'll ring four times (incoming) before beginning to send faxes. The instruction book is extremely useful.
If you mean the "Modem" that you use to get your home phone service, then yes, you can. Instead of plugging your phone into the modem, you plug the Brother Fax Machine into the modem, which works out great because the Brother Fax Machine is also a phone that can be used as a phone, fax machine, and photo copier. Mine is great, and I'm glad I purchased it.

Our 17-year-old Brother fax machine, phone, and copier no longer work. This one caught my eye a while back and I added it to my wish list just in case. I'm glad I did because I didn't want to go out looking for a fax machine, so I purchased this one and am very happy with it. It was incredibly simple to put together and use. All I had to do was get rid of the old fax machine and put this one in its place. It was simple to remove the old plugs from the outlet and replace them with the new machine's plugs, and it was also simple to set it up. I liked that the company includes a test sheet to help me test this machine. It's also where you'll fill out your registration form. Fill out the form and fax it to the provided phone number. The company receives your fax and sends you a confirmation. It's a great concept. You can register and test your fax machine at the same time, but make sure to buy an extra cartridge because the one that comes with it is only good for 60 pages.
The item arrived in good condition and in its original packaging. It's a small and light fax machine. It takes up very little room. It was very simple to set up; all I had to do was plug my phone cord into my modem and I was good to go. It's very easy to use and sends faxes quickly; I simply laid the papers face down, dialed, and pressed the send button. It's small and simple to use, which I like. It is well worth the money at such a low cost. My purchase has satisfied me.
I didn't want to spend a lot of money because I'd only be using it to fax things a few times a month. I saw this on here for $39 and thought it was a good deal. I decided to buy it because it had good reviews. I'm going to try it out to see if it works. So far, everything has gone swimmingly! Setting it up was a breeze. only takes up a small amount of room It even remembers your settings if you unplug it (as I did). The faxes received on the other end are said to be of excellent quality. That made me happy to hear. I haven't tried it for outgoing faxes yet, but using the print function to print copies of the fax receipt page, it appears that they would print very clearly on this end as well. It's also nice that it's printed on ordinary paper. Only the phone handset is a drawback. Even when the volume is turned up, the calls aren't very clear. As a result, you'll still require a desk phone. That is why I did not give it five stars. Aside from that, it's an excellent machine. There's no reason not to try it for the price you'll pay!.
I got one use out of it before it started sending blank paper. It was a complete waste of money, and my pay was delayed for 30 days as a result. My timesheets were never received, despite the fact that I am well-versed in faxing. Just to be sure, I tried sending it again and scrolling up and down with no luck. I switched from Efax to a brand I thought I could trust, but I'll never use it again. This was a very stressful experience, and I will never make the same mistake again, and I would advise anyone considering doing efex to stay on the safe side. This piece of scum can receive faxes and print hard copies if necessary, but why? Using an HP printer.

For the occasional fax, this one appears to be ideal. We only use fax a few times a year, so this small fax, which we keep on a book shelf, appears to be ideal for us. We've only used it once since purchasing it, but it worked perfectly.
I figured it wouldn't be a problem if I just took a picture with my phone and emailed the pages to where they needed to go. This appears to be the case. No. A lot of our paperwork is medical and business-related, so this only happens once in a while. However, I've recently had to "fax" a lot more. I live in a remote location without access to a fax machine, so whenever I needed a fax, I had to drive to a nearby camera shop and pay per page to use their machine, which eventually closed, leaving me without a fax machine. The places I was faxing to complained that my phone copies were not clear enough, so I went to Amazon. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a fax machine that would only be used once in a while, but I did need one that could do the job. I was pleasantly surprised at how simple it was to set up and begin sending faxes with this machine. This is a small, efficient machine that gets the job done quickly. This purchase has made me extremely happy.
Because I am blind, a friend assisted me in setting it up, and she was able to send our first fax in less than 30 minutes after reading the instructions. I use MagicJack and was concerned that the machine would not work with it, but it does; setup was simple, and the instructions were clear and concise. Once we figured out (by reading the directions) how to put a space between the company title name and the return phone number, we were able to enter time and date, company name, and return phone number without any problems. Brother has a test number to which you can send your first fax, and it will be returned with a verification right away. Make sure the paper tray/holdr has enough paper for the return to print the verification. Because I won't be using this device with my phone system, we didn't try the aux phone port. When I'm not using it, I'll simply unplug it because I rarely, if ever, need to receive a fax. When I need to send one, I simply unplug my main phone and plug the fax cord into the MagicJack, then proceed as usual. I faxed five pages to a customer, who said the fax was fine; I haven't tried the copy option, and I already have a printer/copier, so I won't be using it. Finally, I asked a question on Amazon about attaching this to my MagicJack system, and a Brother customer service agent emailed me within an hour with specific instructions. br>br>For a small business or someone who simply doesn't want to drive to a store and pay per page, this is a great little piece of equipment for a great price. br>br> That is also very nice.
