Yeti was my original choice, but I wished I could get something smaller and chose the nano. It wasn't what I wanted for my needs though. A few basic software programs have to be installed before the nano can function. A blinking orange light displayed on my screen, and I had to use YouTube to find instructions on how to resolve it, and then I ran into problems with the voice tracking With the original Yeti, I never had any of these set up issues. With a plug and play setup, it is easy to use. There was so much disappointment in my life. My yeti didn't sound as good as the mic I bought, so I ended up buying another small mic. The audio quality is very good, especially when you tweak it in post. Here's some sample audio without and with noise reduction. I will most likely upgrade from having a blue spark and audio interface to just this, since the audio is good enough and I don't need to deal with the many cables.
In a nutshell They have released their first product since Logitech announced they had purchased them, the Yeti Nano - the first wireless camera to operate with no batteries. This compact microphone will be a great companion to the Blue Yeti. However, the Yeti Nano comes in many cool colors, gives you cardioid and omnidirectional pick up patterns, and can be monitored in real-time. There's a lot of confusion over its price. While it is a decent mic, I feel like even better audio setups can be acquired which are cheaper and more flexible. Recording and podcasting has never been easier thanks to this great microphone. While I was borrowing a Yeti for a couple years, I've found it to be incredible. In search of a more suitable model, I found the one pictured here, which had just come out at the time I had to return it. Even with my amateur ear, I can tell that the Yeti Nano has better sound quality, and I honestly can't tell the difference between my recordings with the Yeti and the Yeti. I bought a cheap boom microphone and I'm very pleased with it. There isn't anything more you should probably be looking at if you want to improve your sound quality, but aren't sure if you need the full Yeti (extra condenser, some other modes), as this probably covers everything you need. It has a huge form factor as well. There are fewer obtrusive parts, and it's easier to store. There is no appreciable difference in quality and I find that it is more practical and more convenient than the Yeti for 30% less.

Having purchased this as an upgrade to my Blue Snowball iCE, I was immediately irritated to find that the emblem was entirely detached from the body. I've used the full-sized model for years, and love it for its functionality.
