If the gain is cranked up to say over 60%, what is the level of self-noise on AT8035?

It is worth the price
5/5

As a video producer, the size of my company is modest. It was a pleasant surprise to test this microphone for a client. The pick up pattern allows you to get further away from your subject by 18 inches. There is low noise, and the ambient noise is well-reduced. The one I bought for myself is mine. The sound device is a Mix Pre 3 that I use with it.

It sounds really good
4/5

I got this and the Rode NTG4 so that I could compare them. There is WAY more directional reception, so less ambient noise is picked up and more of what I want is captured. PROFESSIONALLY, it can be used. Although I like the option to add a battery, it would be nice if there was some sort of indicator light to indicate whether the battery was working. It is the only problem I have.

Has a good application for voiceovers, and is an excellent boom mic
5/5

My mic has been with me now for four years, and it is a real workhorse in boom mic applications - it is also easy to mount out-of-the-box Interview situations are described in this frame. When a mic is used, the audio is smeared with distance (known as proximity effect), but this mic has a polar pattern that mitigates that effect, preventing the voice from becoming too thin when used, maximum 5 feet away The distance between the microphone and the recorder is near perfect, and the mic's ability to pick up transitions, dynamic range, and consonants is superior to that of any lavalier microphone. It is acceptable to have a signal to noise ratio of 1. 14. In my current setup I'm using it for a voiceover application at a distance of six inches, since there is less proximity effect than with a studio mic, while its conversational quality is superior to that of a voice-of-voice combination The quality of a regular voiceover is good. The short distance creates a good signal, while at the same time minimizing transmission delay It's too much- No noise reduction software is needed due to a low noise ratio.

This is a problem of low levels
3/5

This is an excellent video but the levels are too low and the audio is very There's something about the Sennheiser sound that appeals to me There are good levels on the 600, so you can lower the preamps on the camera for better audio. Additionally, it does not sound tinny.

Below $300 is the best medium shotgun
5/5

Decided to buy the 8035 instead of the NTG2 after weighing the benefits of each. The sound quality of the recordings I've been able to get from this mic in conjunction with my H6 field recorder is very good. In comparison to the NTG2, the 8035 has a longer effective range, which was a major factor in my decision to go with it.

I have been really happy with the performance of this mic. The audio delivered is very clean. Despite its reliability and long battery life, it seems to be quite dependable.

An unscrewed screw has lost its connection to the mic
4/5

I only have one complaint the microphone screws are loose and wobbly where they work to connect the battery.
