Questions & Answers
Mic selection is determined by the singer or voiceover artist; condensers work well for some but not all. br>The SM 57 and SM 58 are identical mics with the exception of the windscreens, which are round on one and flat on the other for close micing. br>In my experience, dynamic mics are better for rock and roll, while condenser mics are better for pop and country, but it all depends on the singer you're trying to record; it's best to have a few options so you can A/B and see what sounds best with their voice. To answer this question, an SM57 is fine for recording vocals; I would run it through a nice preamp, just like other dynamic mics. With a good preamp, you'll be surprised at how nice it sounds.
Unless the camera has phantom power, which it does not.
Sure thing! The combination of the Shure microphone and the Xvive U3 is incredible!

For instrument recording and live performance, I needed a high-quality, rugged microphone that didn't break the bank. This industry-standard microphone worked perfectly for the job. I already had a Sennheiser e935 but wanted another mic that could be used with an acoustic guitar but didn't have the same warmth as the Sennheiser. IMPORTANT: br>br> Ensure that you purchase this microphone from a Shure authorized dealer. There are numerous knock-offs on the market. There are a lot of Shure microphones around. It's connected to a computer via a USB cable. I bought this product to use for voice chat and streaming, and it's fantastic. I've got it hooked up to a computer.
At the very least, that's how the one I got is. The mic feels fake and the plastic is a slightly different color than the rest of the box, which has typos all over it. In addition, the Shure bag is extremely dark and gleaming. I have a lot of Shure mic bags, all of which are slightly grey and matte in appearance. Don't be taken in by the pretense.
Be on the lookout for impostors. I purchased this mic along with the Shure A2WS pop filter in the hopes of avoiding having to purchase the SM-65. 57, IN ADDITION TO THE SM For the time being, I can only buy one. br>It's a fantastic solution. You don't have to put this thing up to your mouth to be heard, even if you're whispering, because there's only one mic for my guitar and my voice. Everything is loud and clear, and it sounds very natural. I perform while seated on a stage stool, the mic positioned a few inches in front of my strings and aimed at my face. When I first tried it, I was blown away. It continues to do so. I can hand-hold it as close to my mouth as I want with the pop filter, and there will be no pop. I'm still planning on purchasing the SM- I'd like to be 58 one of these days, but I don't think I'll need it with this one. br>If you don't have one of these mics, go out and get one; you'll be glad you did. WARNING: Do not purchase a SM-II at a reduced price. 57 or SM- 58 on any auction site, or anywhere. China produces low-cost knockoffs that are difficult to distinguish from the genuine article. The box has been duplicated as well. These forgeries cost between $25 and $60. They are approximately ten dollars in value. ONLY purchase from a reputable retailer, such as Amazon, who is an authorized dealer. It was $100 for this. ANYWHERE is 00. It's most likely a fake if you're paying less.
I read all of the hype and reviews, and it lived up to the hype- middle of the road. I had the misfortune of purchasing a fake SM57 on ebay and comparing it to this. The fake was very close; counterfeiters are getting better all the time. It even had the yellow and green wires, as well as the indentation on the top of the screen. The weight of the fake was around 2 oz less, and there is a noticeable gap where the mic screws together in a real sm. The fake, on the other hand, closes the gap very tightly. I hate to say it, but the fake isn't bad, especially for vocals; however, it can't compete with a real one when it comes to instrument recording. Imo, the fake is a more direct copy of a SM 58. From what I've read, it appears to have been designed for karaoke.
We chose the Shure SM57-A after much research and correspondence with his band conductor. X2U. It was within our budget, but it didn't skimp on sound quality. A tabletop stand, cover, and cables were included in the bundle we bought. For the money, this is an excellent package! As many musicians (and their parents) are aware, the final product's quality is paramount, and we are blown away. We were surprised at how well it recorded auditions, online postings, and schoolwork when he started using it right away. It's simple to use and long-lasting (we all know how rough teenagers can be). The mic comes with its own carrying bag, which keeps it safe while being transported to various locations. The Shure microphone is the one you've been looking for if you're looking for high quality and great sound at an affordable price.
This is a fantastic mic. I could go on and on about its features and reputation, but I'd rather talk about how easy it is to use. To begin with, it's a highly directional microphone - Expect little pickup from the sides or back of the mic, making it a great instrument mic with a tight focus. I also bought a windscreen from Amazon, and I've discovered that this mic can also be used as a vocal mic. Don't be afraid to use this mic in front of extremely loud sound sources, such as amps or snare drums; it'll handle just about anything. The SM 57 is a must-have if you, like me, have your own home studio. I don't have a lot of microphones, but the 57 has taken over about 95% of my recording tasks, even replacing my condenser mic for vocals. This mic has made my life so much easier.
This mic is used to record vocals for songs or to talk in games. It would also work well as a podcast. Stunning audio quality. br>br> However, I would advise you to purchase the large gray windscreen rather than the small black one. The small black one allows in "pops," but the gray windscreen allows it to "pop" and breathe freely. br>br>When increasing the volume, you'll almost certainly need a cloudlifter to eliminate unwanted noise. I have one, and it has enough power to make your mic loud enough without making any noise; if I didn't have it, I wouldn't mind the noise levels for gaming, but it might be an issue for vocals. Apart from the sm7b, this is the best microphone for these purposes.
