Questions & Answers
That is an excellent query. When you think of heavier, you think of sound rather than weight, and I have two of them. They both weigh the same but have two distinct sounds. The medium thin is a lovely crash with a wash sound rather than the sharp and brilliant sound of the 16th gong. They're both worth the money, but it depends on the sound you're looking for.
B20 is a copper-tin alloy with a copper-to-tin ratio of 80% to 20%.

First and foremost - I am a REAL person who paid for these cymbals rather than receiving them for free in exchange for a review, I live in the DC area, and I am not affiliated with Amazon or WUHAN. Now, I've taken a break from drumming for a few years, selling my brass but keeping my shells. Zildjian A's and K's were previously in my possession. I'm not sure if I'll continue to play, so I didn't want to spend too much money to satisfy my latest "itch" to do so. For a crash set of 16"/18", I found these on Amazon for less than $180. I expected them to be better than ZBT's, but I didn't expect them to be on par with A Customs. That's right, these could be compared to Zildjian A crash cymbal customs. br>br>Let me begin by stating that they are all brass, heavy but not overly so, as some cheap cymbals are, and they have enough give to shimmer like the A-. I used to have a set like this, but they're not so thin that you're afraid they'll break. This appears to be WUHAN's answer to A Customs, and man, they're so close that I'll keep these even if I continue to play for years. Clearly, this is a Chinese knock-off. cymbals, but they got it right this time, and they're fantastic. I considered rubbing off the name to see if I could fool people, but I'm glad I didn't spend the money, and I'll just let the sound speak for itself. br>br>The 16" is bright but not overly harsh; it can easily cut through a mix when necessary, but it can also be soft and gentle when played that way. It has the perfect rock crash of most 1980s/1990s rock songs used by drummers at the time. I'd buy them again, and I'd recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade from beginner cymbals for a lower price. br>br>WUHAN, whoever you are, keep up the good work: ) A, if you don't agree with my assessment, you can always return; that was my plan if they were bad. These are staying in my kit and will not be returned. The best part is that I won't have to worry about replacing them if they wear out.
Surprisingly, the Wuhan 16 Gong Crash is made of B20 Alloy, the same material used in the higher-end lines from Sabian, Zildjian, Mienl, and other cymbal manufacturers. This cymbal is hand hammered, as are all Wuhan cymbals, and has a Chinese trashy sound with a lot of character and attitude. br>br>With the exception of the most expensive, high-end cymbal lines, most cymbal manufacturers do not offer hand hammering. br>br>I think it'd be great as an auxiliary or secondary cymbal rather than a main cymbal. br>br>It could also be used in conjunction with another main cymbal, such as a higher-end Sabian or Zildjian, for example. br>With the trashy medium decay of the initial hit and nice ring out of the main cymbal, the two sounds would blend perfectly for a beautiful yet raw sound. br>br>For a fraction of the price of other B20 cymbals on the market, it's a win-win situation in my opinion. br>br>This cymbal has advantages and disadvantages, but by understanding them, you can make a fantastic and distinctive drum set. br>br>The photos I submitted show the cymbal as it was when I first received it. After hand polishing and removing the black lettering, the second shot was taken.
Wuhan cymbals are among the most affordable options available. When compared to Zildjian models of the same size and thickness, these have a much more distinct GONG sound. When played with mallets, they sound incredible. br>br>Don't be fooled by Wuhan cymbals' ridiculously low prices; they're made the "old school" way, with premium alloys and a lot of hand labor and love. These obliterate Zildjian, Paiste, and Sabian's low-cost offerings (you know, the ones that are reasonably priced?). I've never heard a Zildjian ZBT-style guitar before. Anything that sounded good was a long way off with these Wuhan. br>br>My studio drum set is in place all year, and we record for clients from all over the world. We have over a dozen premium Zildjian and Sabian models in our kit, but we now have three Wuhan crash/gongs (10", 16", and 18"), as well as two Wuhan China type crash/gongs. Guest drummers frequently comment on how nice the 18" Wuhan sounds, and when I tell them it's a Wuhan, they do a double take. br>br>I'd love to have a big Wuhan Chau gong recorded, but they're still out of my price range, at least until we get a customer who really wants one. br>br>Buy a Wuhan cymbal and find out for yourself; they're incredible. br>br>To all, good music!.
Wuhan cymbals have exceeded my expectations in every way. Now all I need is a good ride cymbal to complete the set.
What a wonderful sounding crash cymbal it's perfect for me I think it matches any of the high-priced Zildjian or other high-priced symbol crashes and it's such a great price I highly recommend wow awesome.
It's impossible to beat WUHAN! This cymbal appeals to me for some reason; It isn't the best cymbal in the world, but it holds up well in performance and blends in well with any other style cymbals I use. When you're on a budget, Wuhan is the place to go!.
In a nutshell, this cymbal is one of my favorites. I have Wuhan 8, 10, and 12in splash cymbals, 14in China, 16in crash (currently), and 18in Crash/ride cymbals, and I adore the sounds they produce. They're certainly loud, but they appear to work well with a wide range of musical styles. I'm in a terrifying situation. rock- I play in a punk band, but I also like to jam on country, classic rock, and pop music. They appear to work well in the genres I've tried them out in. This cymbal has a great appearance. br>br> That sounds fantastic. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this purchase. What's the worst that can happen? br>It is available for purchase.
This cymbal is one of my favorites. I plan to buy more Wuhan crash and splash cymbals because they sound great, look great, and were a great deal compared to similar cymbals of the same size.
