Solid- Version in the middle. The donut version is shaped like a donut and has a hole in the center.

Meh - They improve things! This would be perfect if it had a donut hole, and I'm not sure why they don't include one! It has a nice feel to it, but I prefer to use it on my floor tom as a "fake tambourine!"

This is a fantastic product that will provide you with the sound you've been searching for - a thick snare with a jangle. Haha. The non- Also fantastic is the tambo version. It was well worth the money.
