Questions & Answers
Because it was a gift, I have no idea what type of material it is.
Despite extensive use, the first one I bought about 7 years ago is still in good condition. Of course, placing heavy objects on the drum head should be avoided, but with proper care, it should last a long time.
Unfortunately, the product does not come with a bag or case.
They both sound great, but my husband surprised me by purchasing the 18", which has a more natural sound than the 12". They're both simple to manipulate with your hands. The 12" was returned, while the 18" was kept.

This ocean drum is a favorite everywhere I go, from 3 year olds to 103 year olds. I'm a board certified music therapist working in a variety of settings, and this ocean drum is a favorite everywhere I go, from 3 year olds to 103 year olds. Hearing or playing this drum is said to calm and regulate people who are recovering from trauma and substance abuse. It is non-threatening because the player is not required to follow a set rhythm, and the weight and texture provide sensory stimulation. It's also not overly loud, which I appreciate. When kids struggling with limited impulse control shake the big ones full force, it can be really overwhelming for clients with limited frustration tolerance (as well as for me). The tone of the fish graphic is tempered by the material on which it is printed, making it warmer and more soothing. Children may be inspired to engage in imaginative play as a result of the graphic. I've paired it with Laurie Berkner's "Let's Go Fishing," as well as improvised story songs. I had one that I used for years with adults in inpatient psychiatric facilities and never noticed any wear aside from color fading. I've had a couple of small children stand on this drum (oops) and it's fine; I'm glad to have one again!.
Exactly what I needed for my drum circles - both at the beach and away from it If it becomes sandy and salty, it will not be harmed. It's great for both drumming and dancing, and it's not as heavy as my djembe. I adore this drum and all of the different sounds it makes when played in various ways. I'm serious. amazing!.
This drum is fantastic! It was a hit when I bought it as a gift for an 18-month-old who loves music. The beads slide as the drum moves gently, creating a sound that is eerily similar to that of ocean waves. He also likes to play the drums. It comes highly recommended!.
It turned out to be better than I had anticipated. It's both visually appealing and enjoyable to play.
") The graphics in the aquarium are lovely, but the sound is terrible. Especially in comparison to the 22" model. Get the 22" version if you really want an ocean drum.
It's a good thing I didn't get a bigger one because it would have been way too loud. Wave sounds that are soothing and relaxing.
It's good for grounding and calming anxiety.
My special needs grandson is one of my grandchildren. This is something I got for him to go with his music therapy. It's a hit with him and his therapist, and they use it three times a week. This is an excellent item.
