Remo Ocean Drums are outstanding. In my expertise as a music therapist, here are the things I value 1) The head of the drum does not warp in hot or cold weather nor is it affected by weather changes. It is important for the drum to remain shaped and tensioned when traveling from client to client in a car. Exactly that is what this drum does. 2) There are no easy tears in the fabric. These clients often place this in their mouths and bite, scratch, or chew on Despite all of this abuse, the fabric remains strong! I have not had any beads get caught between the drum's head and its body. 3) The number of beads is sufficient, and none have been stuck. Earlier today, I received my Remo Ocean 16-inch drum. It gives off such a nice sound. To get a crashing wave or a slow wave is very relaxing to work with. I'm excited to try it out for my A video will be uploaded soon so that you can also hear it! It will be the night waves that I buy next.
My music therapy practice uses this instrument all the time. The bigger (like this one) drums have a louder sound, so if you want a quieter sound, you'd be better off getting the smaller one. But I love this drum, and I recommend it highly.
