Selected User Reviews For Vandoren LC57AP M/O Ligature and Plastic Cap for Alto Saxophone; Aged Gold Finish
The review I am about to write was much more than I could wait. Combined with a VD Java Jazz mouthpiece, I ordered a ligature and a mouthpiece. The ligature arrived today, and the MP is scheduled for tomorrow, so I will be able to examine the results in increments instead of slapping them both onto the horn at once and not knowing which part owes credit to the other. Since I have only the ligature on it, I can only provide you with that. From simply a ligature to this! I can't even describe how much better this is! Having a hard time with low notes, i. e. C# and below, has always been a problem for me. I am not doing that anymore! Now even I can play them as loud or soft as I want without droning on about it. It is hard to believe such a difference would exist between ligatures and simple letters! As soon as it arrives tomorrow, I'm going to slap that VD Java Jazz on! In addition, the Altissimo, even though I hadn't had a problem with them before, is now crisp and precise. It will be great to see what it's going to sound like and how it's going to play once the Java mouthpiece arrives!.
Vandoren sax ligatures like this I find beautiful. I'm new to saxophone playing, so I had no idea how much a good ligature could affect the way I play. As opposed to my old cheap ligature (that broke after 7 months of using it), the Vandoren one allows me to hit both high and low notes with equal ease. Moreover, tones in the midrange sound better than those in the low range. A reed that is more responsive to me A reed that is happier and wants to play is a very happy camper! Although it costs more, this ligature proves to be worth the investment. This adds a new level of fun to playing the saxophone.
RECENT UPDATES For the short period of time it lasted, I loved it, but that was actually less than a There was a stripping of the thread. The way I handled it wasn't rough at all. The metal used to make it is on the softer side, so it will easily become stripped over time. As a result, he was stripped of a star for insufficiency. One of these days, I may get another one. In that case, I will be careful not to overdo it I'm sure the screws are going to get tighter. ** - It seems like I have quite a few alto ligatures as well. I have the Vandoren M/O that I reviewed here, a Bonade regular (not inverted), a Rovner dark, a It is unknown where Louis "Ultimate" and an Optimum (lost for many years) are now. It is hard to pick a favorite among the new Vandoren and Bonade when they are both so good. This record has something of the bite of Bonade but with a bit more body, a closer, more "centered" tone, if you will. Overall, I think this new light is a little more flexible in terms of tone. There are some strong colours in the Bonade, while the Rovner is quite dark and mellow. (This letter doesn't sit well with me. It was Louis "Ultimate" that made a mark. Getting the reed to hold evenly is very difficult and after you get it to hold, it is very easy not to knock it out of whack. also like the way it holds the reed in place. This is not the cheapest option It will take some work, but it will be.
My recommendation is that this ligature be used by your young musician to resolve problems with squeaking or tone. Buying Vandoren's same brand and design for my two sons who play clarinet and saxophone at the same time is a great decision. Because the ligature is notched out to fit around the reed, only two points of contact make contact with the reed, so it doesn't inhibit vibration as heavily as the typical Since it is only one screw, it is very easy to install and remove, so my kids can easily clean the mouthpiece (something they avoided before because the mouthpiece just got nasty). A good alternative is to use artificial reeds made by Bari Star. Vandoren ligature and Bari Reeds in combination are a literal match made in heaven Music can change the future of a young musician, with improvements observable immediately.
Unlike some very expensive ligatures, this one is great. I tested this with a couple others in the same price range, and the tone quality was exactly the same as with optimum. I ended up giving it to my beginning student who was delighted with how it helped her with placing Reed.
A very well made product that looks good and works well.
This reed holder isn't as good for slim reeds as the Legere Signature Series is, but it works great with natural and synthetic reeds!.
Remains stable for a long time. No matter how far you adjust the mp angle, the reed remains in place. As far as I'm concerned, it works perfectly.
