Questions & Answers
The diameter of this is going to be too much for a standard metal mouthpiece, even with the screw tightened to the maximum. The diameter of a ligature designed for a metal mouthpiece is going to be much smaller. when that is considered, a standard Rovner ligature like a C1M, which is designed for a metal mouthpiece, won't fit all metal mouthpieces. Metal ligatures that are designed specifically for mouthpieces are sometimes needed.
A Fit Chart is published by Rovner on their website as an indication of which ligatures fit which mouthpieces. It strikes me as odd that this is not listed on Amazon listings for Rovner ligatures. You can find rovner products on the website. To find out if your mouth piece is sized correctly, visit the support section.
If that mouthpiece is compatible with this device, it should work great. This product will not work with most metal mouthpieces since they require a smaller circumference ligature, but it will work with most plastic and rubber mouthpieces.
While I haven't tried the ligature, I have found it to be effective anyway. If oil dampened vibrations, this would be a good thing. Ideally, lubricate the metal threads used to tighten the ligature with a small amount of oil.

There's nothing fancy about it. The build quality is good. This is a 4 star rating since the YAS480 alto sax) is not significant. My own experience has shown that a Lig can only make a minute tonal difference, so I never got the vandoren Lig at $70.
I would spend an amount not exceeding 18 dollars on a cigarette.
I will keep the Yamaha metal Lig as a backup, I am all set now for many years to come.
The Alto Saxophone is not something I've been playing a long time, but for enough time that I wanted the sound to improve. this product with the OEM Yamaha 4C mouthpiece that came with my instrument. I also use it on my Selmer Paris 50 tenor sax with a Yamaha 5C mouthpiece. I have been using Fibracell reeds on both instruments, and it seems to work best with them.
I'm so impressed with how clear the sound is and how amazing the sound is. In love with sax, my son's music teacher recommended that he switch to a leather ligature since the metal ligature sounded like bhaaaaa. Using the switch, the clarity is much better and my son sounds like a professional player (with practice, of course).
The ligature here allows any sax sound to sound clearer, notes will sound more powerful, and the tone will be more full. The noise-reduction technology helps reduce squeaks, tone changes, and For beginners, this is amazing. This product fits perfectly up over the ligature and the included cap provides the perfect fit for the ligature, even though the plastic is a little thin/weak. The Yamaha Alto Sax Mouthpiece 5C (4C is also available) pair well with this mouthpiece.
Doesn't fit into my sax case where the old one was, gives more vibration than metal ligature, easy to use but Reed seems to vibrate moisture, making sax leak, while metal one does not scratch the mouthpiece,.
With this ligature, I noticed a difference in brightness and depth of sound compared to others. It has the same metal design as the original As an added bonus, it seems to have helped my beginner's embouchure as well. As a next step, I plan to try other mouthpieces.
I found it much easier to attach a reed to my Sax mouthpiece when I used this one instead of using a metal one. What is it that you want to know? It was hard to center the reed properly to install my Yamaha 4C mouthpiece ligature, because it kept moving side to side when I tried to install the ligature. Besides, a single knob is easier to turn than two knobs commonly found on ligatures made of metal.
I tried this too, but preferred it. The overall sound quality did not meet my expectations. I was expecting a darker sound than the one I had with my Versa, but I received no darker sound than I had with the Versa, nor did I receive a more pleasing tone. I returned Rovner Dark so I can get a refund. I would recommend paying a little more for a Rovner Versa ligature if you're considering this one. A variety of configurations are available and the quality of the sound is better.
