When I played this ligature, my register key notes played deeper, fuller, and rounder as they used to. My metal ligature was broken, so I bought this because my notes weren't playing like they used to and my metal ligature was broken. With this ligature, I was able to play louder and although my note register is still squeaking, I am still happy that my sound has become so much better. going to get a new mouthpiece, so I hope that will be the remedy. Since it is so useful and so cheap, I highly recommend getting this ligature.
They are not as nice as the Vandoren Prestige ligatures, but they are far more affordable. The rovner on my Contra- is a nice feature The alto clarinet is also included. The stock ligatures are no match for these and way too expensive. It's a nice addition to have a cap!.
The sound quality improved significantly as a result of this. I love how well the fit is.
Since switching from clarinet to bass clarinet this past school year, I have been able to get accustomed to using the ligature so much more easily. As far as the sound is concerned, it's just so much better than the metal ligature, and honestly, I just find it more accessible.
There is no end to the time I use this ligature. It doesn't matter what you choose, although I think intermediate and above is best.
I've used it for 15 years and like it a lot. The inexpensive bass ligature I was asked to try works great for the price. It is a much better option than the much more expensive Rovner ligature I have for my Bb clarinet. I would definitely recommend.
