Though I am not familiar with this stuff, the kid's band instructor made it a point to order one (and the kid seems to be.
This review needs to be fixed. The ligature I use is my favorite, I recommend it to all Various platings on the new ones are too cheap and cause the ligature to slip up and fall off when you play. It will ruff up the slippery surface if you apply some sand paper to the back and inside (same side as the screws, but the part that goes up against the plastic of the mouthpiece), and you shouldn't have to worry about the mouthpiece slipping.
Put a dark tone on it. Ligature of great quality. Put a dark tone on it.
I like it, it's affordable, and I don't have to break.
A difficult job it would be to find the exact reed. Since I had been using it for a few months, I finally decided to stop using Although the double screws can be adjusted, they are a nuisance, even with lubrication. This ligature is very difficult to use to find the exact pressure I need for reeds. In the end, I picked up the Vandoren M/O and am very pleased with it.
A couple of old clarinets without ligatures were purchased from a local shop. I really like how well the ligatures fit the reed and hold it firmly. There is only one thing I wish the rest of the clarinet's metalwork was as bright and shiny as these ligatures. Having an incentive to finish polishing the rest of the metal gives me a sense of accomplishment.
Despite the Bonade ligature's design, none of the screws connected. My crystal mouthpiece didn't fit. Perhaps that was why I couldn't get it to fit.
The expected outcome was achieved.
