Selected User Reviews For Fender American Precision Bass - Medium Jumbo Frets - Maple Fingerboard
The neck looks good. A good size, but not a giant. On a '79 MIA Precision, it was used to replace the fretless neck. I will - The end result is nice The fingerboard is matte on the back, while the back is gloss. - I love how well it fits on my neck -- There was one misaligned hole out of four on the mounting screw. It was fine for the other three. It wasn't a serious issue. I will - Tuning machines sold on Amazon ("Fender Standard-Highway One Series Bass Tuning Machines") fit the pre-1982 "Wilco" basses It seems that the bushings that go with them are too small to fit the tuning post holes drilled in this neck, even though the mounting screw holes were perfectly drilled. It is also necessary to buy the "Fender Bass Tuning Machine Bushings - Black" A standard or deluxe series (Mexico). All of these fit properly. I will - It does not include a string retainer. It's pictured on the box, so this is strange.
It was obvious that I couldn't get an American Fender neck for that price. I really think Amazon needs to fix those Fender neck listings because most of them show incorrect specifications. In general, the neck that arrived was in fine condition, but the finishing work on the back was not as good as it could have been.
It's a replacement for an Affinity P-type guitar that I used to have This was the bass body Seriously, this bass has one of the best necks of any instrument I own.
So order without a second thought! Despite what the title says, it is actually a P Bass neck, not a Jaguar neck. So order without a second thought! I am so glad to have this in perfect condition! It is more than likely that you will have to order the $8 tuning kit depending on your tuners. I need bushings for my 00 Fender Mim tuners.
Due to the outer diameter of the bushings, I was unable to use the standard 18mm to fit a smaller bushing, so I assume it was drilled for the 22mm bushing that is difficult to find. A MIM P Bass or Squire P bass do not come with the 22mm bushing. There is no information in the item description about this, but it should be provided. Tuners with the correct bushings for the neck are still unavailable for this guitar. As such, I would suggest other accessories to this neck unless you already have the right.
There is a mistake in this picture. This neck has maple fingerboard for the P Bass from Fender, so it's definitely a genuine replacement neck.
I received it in a timely manner. It looks and sounds wonderful. I made sure to make use of the Warmoth tuners as well.
This is a great sound and looks good too!.
