bass. They're made of a dense tropical hardwood, which is a plus in my book. The wood has a decent finish when it arrives, and it will continue to improve over time, as wood does. The only drawback is that the screw holes in the unmounted second piece are asymmetrical. At that moment, the drill press operator was being a little sloppy. br>br>I have a nice thumbrest on my other bass, and I've been wanting one for this bass for a long time, so now I'm all set.
I have a small Ibanez bass, and I figured I'd start with double-sided tape to get it in the right spot for me. Thankfully, the tape held, and I didn't need to use the screws. So far, everything is in order, and the bass's body is perfectly matched.
These are what I put on my Ibanez bass guitar. Instead of drilling holes in my bass (because my drilling skills aren't very good), I glued it in place with Superglue. It's fine and serves as a solid thumbrest.
The staining is uneven, but it's not a big deal. ish. They were sanded down and stained to match my Ibanez SR1345B. They appear to be of higher quality because they are made of wood, as opposed to the low-cost plastics. There are no issues.
It's the perfect complement to my new bass guitar. I was able to reuse one of the pick guard's screw holes, requiring only one hole to be drilled. The color is a perfect match for my fretboard.
Because of the nature of my bass, I had to drill/dremmel a small hole to go over a screw, nbd. When drilling, this wood emits a distinct odor.
It gets the job done. Screws were included in the box. For two people, this is an amazing deal!.
I needed to shave down a little because I prefer my low profile, and it's now perfect; you can't do that with the plastic ones without jeopardizing the structure. They also have a nice appearance.
