If you're referring to the T-shirt, You put them under the strings near the bridge with shaped gauges. The gauge's purpose is to match the "radius" of the strings to the fretboard by adjusting the height of a few outside strings, then matching the radius of the other strings with the gauge. With the outside two, the other strings' height will fall into place. br>I stopped using this method and instead used the rule to set the string height for each string individually. The radius will naturally follow. String height is a personal preference, but start by looking up the specifications for your instrument. There are numerous videos available on YouTube. Once you've done it a few times, it'll become second nature.
To figure out how high or low the strings are.
For a 5-string bass, the understring radius gauges are too narrow. A four-string bass and six-string guitars will be used.
Unless you consider a zip lock bag to be a carry case, that is.

Spending a little more on these over less expensive alternatives is well worth it. There is no offset because the action gauge measurements start right at the edge of the metal, the fret guards are resistant to my filing methods, and it's a lot faster than covering the neck in painter tape. The peg remover keychain is a little underwhelming; my string winder/peg remover is far superior. The radius guides are well-made, with no sharp edges or flimsiness. This is an excellent set for anyone who wants to learn how to maintain their guitar on their own.
I'm a beginner guitarist, but I was able to get my guitar to play in tune with the help of these tools. I tweaked the truss rod, string height, and intonation after watching a few YouTube videos. It performs better than it did when it was first released!.
As stated in the advertisement. The radius guages and string action ruler are fine; they appear to be of good quality and are labeled as stainless steel. The fretboard protectors are a question mark for me. There was discoloration on both of them. The peg lifter is nothing more than a piece of plastic with no special features. This is an excellent buy because of the radius guages and string action ruler. These items are of excellent quality and cost a fraction of what "big name" luthier suppliers charge. I'm not opposed to paying a premium for good quality, but stainless steel is what it is. It's a rip-off to mark it up just because there's a name on it. This is a good buy simply because of the guages and ruler.
The action measuring gauge was bent, and the metal was extremely thin, rendering it useless. It's supposed to be perfectly flat, but it's bent, and no amount of flattening seems to work. I'd steer clear of it in favor of something more accurate.
It arrived on time and appears to be of good quality.
This is a good deal. On nothing, there are no burrs. A must-have for any guitarist who does their own setup.
It's just a small kit that comes in handy. With this, a good straight edge, and a good fret file, you can give your neck a professional tune and set your action like a pro. br>br>I'm in a great mood.
The tools are of excellent quality. The fretboard radius and bridge saddles have already been determined using the under string radius gauges. The action gauge is simple to use and allows for precise measurement of the distance between the string and the frets.
