My kit's screws weren't brass - They're black, and I believe they're made of steel.

The machine work is excellent, and they will fit perfectly on a Precision or Jazz bridge. One caveat is that the string grooves are shallow and not graduated for string size, but I'll give them a shot anyway. is, and, if necessary, resize- If necessary, I'll elaborate on that later. br>br>I used the original intonation screws and springs because the ones that came with these saddles seemed to be too short to dial in the intonation. I kept the height adjustment set screws because they fit well and had a long reach. br>br>Physically, these are a perfect match and will help you tone up. The turned finish, on the other hand, is rough and unattractive. I ended up using emery paper to polish it and then buffing it with metal polish. When polished, the brass looks stunning. Keep in mind that this brass was probably chosen for its density rather than its hardness. It's easy to scratch, so use caution. br>br>However, nine dollars and change for these saddles is a steal, even if they do need a good polish. You can't go wrong if you don't mind the appearance and are willing to put in some effort. It is highly recommended.
I bought these to replace the cast zinc saddles on my Squier P bass, but I only used the brass saddle itself because the intonation screws were too short, and the supplied Allen wrench wouldn't fit the height adjustment screws. So I transferred all of the screws from the old saddles to the new saddles. The string grooves are also much shallower; time will tell whether or not I need to file them deeper.
Because they were made in Germany, shipping took a while, but the wait was well worth it. I'm glad I didn't pay six times as much for a fully assembled American bridge. The precision machining of these bridge pieces adds a lot of value, and they'll last a lifetime.
For my Fender P-90, I ordered these saddles. Bass has been around for a while now. I only recently replaced my old saddles with these. Unfortunately, the hole for the intonation adjustment screw (the one that connects the saddle to the bridge plate) was completely unthreaded on one of the saddles. As a result, I was unable to use that particular piece. I would have returned or requested a replacement if I had discovered this immediately after purchasing. br>br>So look for QA issues in your purchase!.
These saddles can be used to replace stock bridges that are less expensive. The saddles are a simple upgrade if you don't want to replace the bridge. These are a little heavier than the originals, and like most guitar-related items, I'm not sure the saddles make a discernible difference, but they sure look cool.
I needed to replace one of my saddles and was pleased to find that it was simple to do so with these saddles, and that the quality is reasonable for the price.
I combined these with a few other upgrades, but I believe they gave my bass a fatter, more musical tone.
Wilkerson bridge saddles can be easily replaced with these saddles.
