I'm used to resting my thumb on my pickup, but there are times when I want to move around where my pickup isn't, so I bought these with the idea of extending my thumb rest area. These, however, are extremely high. It's a good thing I used double-sided tape for the test fit. I don't have any holes in my bass or pickguard, but I might try grinding them down with my belt sander to get it to the height I want. However, I will continue to install it with double-sided tape. It's possible that you'll get tired of it and would prefer not to have souvenir screw holes.
I usually make these myself, but I was in a lazy mood. And if they worked, I'd be able to use them again in the future. There were no issues. If I buy any more basses, I'll buy them from you again. (Are you 17 years old? LOL).
My new bass has fanned frets, which means the frets on the neck, as well as the pickups, are at an angle, preventing me from resting my thumb on a level surface. I saw this product and decided to order it because the price was reasonable and they were delivered "Fast" and were exactly what I needed to solve my problem. Thanks.
They're a little bigger and longer than what I was looking for, but I only use them for looks. I'll buy them again.
Drill a pilot hole with low-quality screws, as a favor to yourself. Apart from that, there have been no issues since the installation two weeks ago.
