This is standard equipment on Mexican fenders, so it isn't an upgrade. This was purchased to replace the original bridge on my "new" Mexican P, which was completely rusted out. My Mexican Jazz bass has the same bridge, so I knew exactly what I was getting. It's a good bridge with individual string adjustability, but it lacks sustain. That is why I gave it four stars. It's exactly what I was hoping for from a bass bridge. I'd like to clarify that while some reviews stated that the bridge did not include screws, mine did. I'm not sure if those reviewers were simply unlucky, or if they started including the bridge screws as a result of the orders. In any case, the bridge came with screws. br>br>In general, this is a drop-in replacement for any 5 screw 4 string fender style bass. It's what the Mexican Player/Standard series basses come with as standard. I would strongly suggest it.
It's exactly as you believe- I docked a star for the lack of screws included with the Fender bridge. It's not that they're expensive, but I shouldn't have had to go to the hardware store in the first place.
I had to replace a rusted one on my MIM Jazz bass. It fit perfectly and functions as if it were brand new. It would have been nice if they had included new screws as well.
The metal is a solid chunk. On an older MIM Jazz, the swap worked perfectly. Everything is working fine now, and Bass looks much better.
It didn't come in a Fender package, so I'm not sure if it's an authentic Fender part. The quality, on the other hand, is fantastic. It matches the original bridge perfectly and is quite lovely. This is a solid, heavy-duty part that should work well as a replacement. Thanks!.
