It's nothing more than a slang term from back in the day. The motor, also known as the voice coil, is the component of the speaker that converts electrical to mechanical energy. A sound wave is produced when a motor vibrates a diaphragm, which vibrates the air in close proximity to it. The term "case" refers to a complete speaker that is not housed in a cabinet. A case or speaker is made up of individual parts such as a basket, voice coil, diaphragm, and cone.
Selected User Reviews For Eminence Speaker Case (Cannabis Rex 10)
These speakers are a lot darker than the standard Eminence 10 inch speaker. The high end has a significant level roll off, but it is not muddy or dull. The data is still present, but it is much less prominent. It's ideal for taming an amp that's too bright. The bass is loud and clear. It has a big magnet and a big voice coil, so it produces a big sound. Articulation and response are excellent, very fast and detailed, but there is a high end roll off, as previously mentioned. It won't work with every amp, and it might be too dark for some uses. However, it can make it nearly impossible for some amps to reach those "icepick" mids and highs, which can quickly tire out an amp. For the most part, it just won't go there. Excellent speaker in the right applications.
The ragin' cajun is obnoxious and obnoxious. This was actually the stock that came in second. Where I used to keep the tone almost off, I can now actually dial it in. The lows are silky and deep, while the highs are chimey but not piercing. Overall, a fantastic upgrade.
With a Champ XD and a Strat, you can get a nice, smooth tone.
The Rex is a 50-year-old dinosaur. When pushed even slightly, the watt hemp cone speaker produces a nice smooth break up that complements any combo amp beautifully.
With these in my Hodrod Deville 4x10 criss-crossed with two Red Fangs, the sound is incredible. When compared to stock eminence specials, the tone is like night and day! br>From metal to country and everything in between, we've got it all!.
I started with a Celestion Vintage 10, but it wasn't quite right; I bought the Cannabis Rex 10 after receiving a recommendation, and it was an excellent match! br>Would highly recommend this speaker for any 10" application; if replacing speakers in a SuperReverb or 4x10 Bassman combo, it should sound fantastic.
I used a Fender Super Champ 2 to house this. It sounds like buttah to me.
This speaker's sound is very smooth and warm, in my opinion. It's not a good day. At low power, it was quite loud, and I thought it was well made. It serves a purpose.
