With a Celestion Vintage 30 in it, I got it for $150. It's made of 1/2" plywood with bracing along the edge of the sound board (speaker mount). It's painted on the inside and out, and it's wrapped in tolex that looks good. It has a standard (cheap) handle, and all four corners are protected. br>br>Because it's 8 ohm, it can be used as a main or secondary speaker with almost any amp I have (when used with a combo amp). I've been using it with a Joyo Mjolnir (15 tube head with a recto-adjustable recto-adjustable recto-adjustable recto-adjustable recto-adjustable rec tone of voice: CRANKS and CHUGS are the only words that come to mind when I think of CRANKS and CHUG On this cabinet, there's also a Peavy Piranha (solid state, 20W, 6505 mini head) and an Orange Micro Terror (20 watt that sounds like a plexi super lead cranked to 11). It has a 1/3 open back, which allows it to breathe while also adding a chug (good bass thump from the 12" when palm mute strumming). Overall, if you need a cab for a 10w-ton truck, this is probably the best deal for the money. 20w head. It's small enough that I can fit it into my 250-square-foot apartment without taking up too much room, but it provides the "chug" I've been looking for in a 1x12 cab.
It sounds great, and it's not made of MDF, so it's easy to transport. I only did one thing: I closed up the back, which you don't have to do but I prefer. The tolex is of good quality, and the leather looks and feels similar to that found on Mesa cabs. I'm not sure how well the tolex will hold up, but I don't mind because I've ripped up pretty much every type of tolex. br>br>I'm not sure if it's the same company that makes Harley Benton cabs, but I can't say for sure. Basically, you can now get a HB cab for a lower price and have it delivered in a few days without having to pay for shipping. The most important aspect is that it sounds fantastic.
Cabinet is made of solid 1x12. The plywood is glued and screwed together, and the Tolex is well done. I prefer the black metal corners on this cab over the bright metal corners on some others. The construction is finished off with a collapsible top carry handle, rubber feet, black grill cloth, and white piping. The industry standard Celestion Vintage 30 12" speaker sounds fantastic and will only improve with use. Given how much the cost of materials has gone up, I was thrilled when this Monoprice cab went on sale. I'd been wanting a quality 112 cab with a Celestion Vintage 30 or Creamback in it for a long time and was thrilled when it went on sale. I'm overjoyed to have finally found a good cab with which to practice.
I'll tell you that a speaker cabinet without a speaker is worth more! This cab not only has a speaker, but it also has a Celestion Vintage 30 speaker that sounds fantastic. This is an unbelievable offer. Do not be hesitant!.
I'm blown away by the build quality, and the speaker is exactly what you'd expect from a vintage Celestion 30. The price is hard to beat.
The Vintage 30 Celestion never disappoints with its solid, well-built cabinet. The sound is incredible when I connect my Marshall AVT 50 head. This was money well spent.
