Questions & Answers
With this mute, you can achieve a brassy sound with your bare hand and raise the pitch by 1/2 step by using "hand stopping." This was traditionally done with bare hands. Because our hands vary in shape, not many of us can achieve the "perfect" seal so must use stop mutes. With music, it is denoted by a + sign, or English "stopped" or German "gestopft" or simply "gest" for short.

That works fine, but you have to transpose it. When I bought a similar mute at a music store in San Francisco, it was written "non-returnable Despite the fact that it required transposing, it was muted. It didn't make sense to me to go all the way back to exchange it, so I now have two. You shouldn't take it for granted (or try it out) just because it claims to be non-toxic Changing the transposition. After learning, I discovered that non-toxic products always come with a warning label When you hear the word "transpose" it means that you will have to transpose by yourself, because the mute cannot transpose on its own.
It was stated in the description that it was a non-toxic product However, it is NOT the case that the mute is transposed. However, you will still need to transpose it in order to hear the stopped horn sound. During the call, I had Humes & Co. on the line We have a beef with the confusing language on their packaging that calls the mute a transposing mute yet in the description we find, "No transposition whatsoever. ". A "C" you play open horn is the same "C" you get in perfect pitch when you put it in mutes. That's not the case.
a great tool and I would recommend it to anyone who has trouble stopping their horn or has parts that dangle too low in order to be stopped.
It would have been better to save up and get an Ion Balu stop mute instead!.
I bought this as a gift for my son, and he has experienced very good results with it. As well as playing in his community orchestra, he also plays occasionally in his.
I bought this for my grandson, age 13, and he absolutely loves the mute and His Mute gives him some variety in terms of sound. This item was of high quality and nice to have. Having bought it for him, I am glad I did.
It is of good quality at a very reasonable price, and it arrived quickly. It is a company I would recommend to anyone seeking quality products.
