Grease odor is retained

I washed it for the first time. The grease smell (pan seared chicken thighs) was still present on the silicone, so I took a closer look. Three days later, the smell is STILL on it, despite the fact that I wrapped it in baking powder for over ten hours, then soaked it in borax and dawn for several more hours. . . . Nothing. It's still a heavenly odor. Another disadvantage is that I believe it is not porous enough and produces too much moisture when frying, resulting in a lot of popping and splatter when the guard is lifted.

Fails in a record amount of time; perhaps it was just a bad batch? The edge rolls started to split after the first use and eventually just lost tension and broke because it's silicone and easy to clean
