Questions & Answers
Others have stated that the bristles are firm, but I must disagree. It's great for zucchini, cucumbers, and waxy red or yellow potatoes, among other things, with this brush. The bristles, on the other hand, are far too soft for russet potatoes, in my opinion.
It's small enough to fit in my palm. It could be the size of a lemon. If you'd like, I can take precise measurements for you.
If that's what you're talking about, it's firm enough to remove most corn silks without damaging the kernals. It's stiff enough to clean root vegetables but not so much that it tears the skin of a thin-skinned tomato. The bristles have remained in their original shape so far. To sanitize it, I put it in the dishwasher.
I believe the bristles are made of nylon, which is BPA-free. Free (at least according to a quick google search). Nylon, on the other hand, is hazardous to one's health. I'm not sure how serious this is because it's still used in toothbrushes.

The bristles had been permanently smooshed down after only two uses. Although the grip is excellent, the bristles are ineffective against potatoes. Is it possible that this is only for delicate produce? Certainly not good for potatoes, carrots, or other root vegetables.
I would strongly suggest it. This is an incredible brush. You can see how well the dirt comes off by looking at the before and after photos of a potato I was scrubbing. The bristles are stiff, which is ideal for cleaning, and they are very sturdy and durable. It's comfortable to hold and performs admirably. I would strongly advise!.
It's not something I enjoy doing, scrubbing potatoes. I have rheumatoid arthritis, which makes it more difficult for me to do certain things. I've been looking for something more comfortable and less taxing on my hands. I decided to give it a try after reading some of the reviews. First, I'd like to point out that it fits perfectly in my hand, and that one of the reviews claims that the brush is no good after only a few uses, with a photo of the bristles already smashed down. I'm not sure how that was accomplished unless someone was scrubbing vegetables with undue force. The bristles are strong enough to withstand a steady but light scrubbing on potatoes to clean them, but soft enough not to harm your more delicate skinned fruits and vegetables. I'm very happy with this product; it allows me to do things that were previously uncomfortable and painful with ease and no more pain than I had before. Do I recommend this product? Yes, without a doubt.
I haven't tried it on corn yet. I haven't tried it yet, but I believe it will work fine without harming the kernels. (If not, I'll write a follow-up review. ) ) It's ergonomically designed, like most OXO products, and even fits in my smaller, chunkier hands - As a result, I believe it would be an excellent tool for arthritic cooks. br>br>As you can see in my photo, it's about the size of a computer mouse, so it won't take up much space in a drawer or next to a sink. I wrote "veggies only" on the top because I'm afraid my family will use this little guy for something else.
I used to have a tiny brush with a much smaller grasping surface and a potato-shaped/colored grasping surface. I replaced it with this after the garbage disposal got it a couple of times and began to eat it. It's big enough that it won't go down the drain, which is a good thing. The bristles are stiff, which is ideal for scrubbing potatoes or carrots, and there are more of them than the stupid thing I had before, so it scrubs a larger area faster. It is undeniably easier to handle because of the large grip.
Cleaning vegetables takes very little effort! My go-to vegetable brush is starting to show its age. worn. Before it bids its final farewell, I decided to try a new brush so that I could get used to it before my old one retired. br>What I had was flexible and could easily go around shapes, but I haven't been able to find anything similar since. br>Why did I pick this one? I like OXO products, and this one was particularly appealing because it had a rubbery feel to it. (I reasoned that it would be easier to hold) handle). br>The rubbery grip is much more comfortable to hold. handle (and please don't tell my old favorite brush, but I think I prefer this one). br>Because the bristles are firm, it doesn't take much pressure to clean vegetables (i. e. carrots, potatoes, and other root vegetables). While firm, they still work nicely with more delicate items such as peppers or thin skin items, with an even gentler touch (so not a lot of work/effort, great if you have arm/hand issues). br>I'm really happy with it!.
A potato cleaning brush was desperately needed. I searched for potato brush on Amazon and this Oxo brush came up first; I read the details and it was exactly what I needed. It ended up being exactly what I required. br>br>With a length of just under 5" and a width of just under 3", this brush is ideal for holding in the palm of your hand. 4" tall. Despite the fact that the advertisement stated that the color may vary, I was unconcerned about which color I would receive. The brush I received was green in color, just like the one in the advertisement. br>br>For brushing clean potatoes, this brush is fantastic. We mostly clean organic russet potatoes, and brushing an entire regular-sized baked potato clean only takes a few seconds. The bristles are tough and can withstand a lot of scrubbing. As you scrub the potato skin, you can see it go from dirty to clean. br>br>On this brush, I simply use hot water, but you could also use a vegetable washing solution. I wish there were more color options because green isn't my favorite color, but since this is a utility item, color isn't a big deal. This brush has only been used to clean potatoes, but it would also be useful for cleaning other vegetables. br>br>This was an excellent purchase, and I am very pleased with it. I like the Oxo brand and have a few items from them. This brush is made of high-quality nylon bristles and is ideal for cleaning potatoes.
As a brush for washing eggs, it's fantastic! Simply wash the eggs in warm water, scrub them, and let them air dry. You can sanitize the brush in the dishwasher if you're extra cautious. To avoid bending the bristles, I recommend placing the brush on its back with the bristles facing up. I'm planning on purchasing a second one in the near future. br>br>I'm sure it's also a fantastic veggie brush, but I wouldn't use the same brush for both eggs and vegetables. You could transfer wax, pesticides, and other contaminants from the vegetables and fruits to farm fresh eggs. That is not something you should do! YUCK.
