Questions & Answers

Has anyone ever tried cooking steel cut oats? How did it turn out if that was the case?

Steel cut oats are something I make several times a week and they always turn out perfectly. I use a 1: 1 ratio. 4:1 oats-to-water ratio, usually 1/2 cup oats in the Zojirushi measuring cup, porridge setting Because some water will boil over, I fold a paper towel and place it under the top vent's rear edge, where it will catch the majority of the water. If you cook more than 1/2 cup of oats at a time, you risk a lot of boil over. I recently experimented with a one-to-one correspondence. 3 ratio, and the oats appear to be just as good but with significantly less boil over.

What is the location of production?

Products for this brand are manufactured in both Japan and China. If it's made in Japan, it'll say so on the rice cooker's lid. The ones made in China are less expensive.

Is it possible to find out what the non-profit organization's mission is? What is the composition of the stick? Trying to stay away from things that are toxic, such as some non-food items stick. Thank you very much! ?

Teflon is the coating, which is PTFE. PTFE is referred to as Teflon by its brand name. When ingested or inhaled, it is poisonous. If you're trying to stay away from toxic materials, this is probably something you don't want to eat, and as someone else pointed out, the problem with ingesting arises when the surface material chips or peels and falls into the food. This has been reported by a few reviewers on this site. I'm concerned about this because I don't want to consume teflon. I've been using one of these for about 5 months. I accidentally hit the upper rim lightly with the plastic rim of my Dishmaster brush while washing dishes during the first month or so. It's a brush, not a harsh dishwashing tool, but the plastic rim brushed against the rice cooker bowl inadvertently. The material on the surface began to flake off. It now has a teeny-tiny hole. After that, I kept an eye on it and saw no evidence of the chip spreading, and I have no reason to believe material is falling into my food. The chip is once again on the bowl's upper rim, far away from the food. However, the ease with which the material could be chipped struck me. I try to be cautious, but I can't guarantee that I won't chip it again by accidentally hitting it against a faucet or something similar. Some reviewers have stated that the material begins to come off after a period of time, even if it is not accidentally hit and broken; it simply wears out. Many reviewers report that they have used the cooker for a long time with no change in the material surface. The rice cooker is one of my favorites because it is so simple to use and maintain. So, if I chip the bowl badly enough for teflon to get into my food, I'd buy a new bowl, despite the fact that they're expensive; however, if the material starts to wear off on its own, I'd probably stop using it. When I'm washing it, I just keep an eye on it.

What is the difference between this model and the Zojirushi NS-? What about the LAC05XT, which is also a three-cup model but costs less than $100?

The first is the NP- Induction cooking is available on the GBC05. 2) The NP-style The GBC05 cup is manufactured in Japan, whereas the other three Zojirushi cup units are not. (China?

Rice cooker with induction GBC05. NP- NP- NP- NP- NP- NP- NP- NP- NP- NP GBC05XT. We were given an NP-hard model. Without the XT, GBC05. I'm not sure if there's a difference, but that's the model number on the box as well as the rice cooker we got. The rice cooker has a label on it that says "Made in Japan," which is exactly what we wanted. This is the first induction rice cooker we've ever purchased. (I'll refer to it as the IRC, which stands for Induction Rice Cooker. ) ) There are two measuring cups included in this IRC. The white rice cup will be used because we only eat white rice. A full cup of white rice is actually 3/4 of a cup of U. S. rice. cup of regular size This is important to know if you're looking for a three-cup rice cooker that uses three standard-capacity cups, but has less capacity than the U. S. We don't have a problem with standard size cups because we're cooking "2 Zojirushi cups," which is actually 1-cup. We (two adults) can get away with 1/2 cup of rice. br>br>The first batch of white rice we cooked with the water level in the cooking pot at exactly the 2 cup mark was delicious, but a little dry compared to what we consider "perfect" rice, so we'll cook the second batch with the water level slightly above the 2 cup mark. In about three tries, we'll have "perfect" rice. br>br>However, the first batch was excellent, with evenly cooked rice throughout the pot and no overcooking at the bottom, thanks to the induction heating. The leftover rice in the pot is still delicious and hasn't turned brown after twenty-four hours. This IRC has exceeded our expectations, and we are glad we purchased it. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> We've cooked many batches of white rice with this Zojirushi IRC, and we can say that for 2 "Zojirushi cups" of rice cooked slightly above the 2 cup mark in the pot, this is the BEST cooked white rice we've ever had in all of our years of rice cooking. Twice a day is recommended. The rice is perfect, and the cherry on top is that it seems to keep warm for at least the end of the next day in the keep warm mode. I'll buy a new rice cooker if this one dies. PERFECT WHITE RICE IN SUPERIOR CONDITION! UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: br>While reading customer reviews for this Zojirushi rice cooker, I came across one that stated that the cooking pot can rust, which made me very concerned. I don't think that will happen now that we have one. Water simply beads and rolls off our pot, which is completely coated inside and out with some kind of hard no-stick coating. I'm a handyman who knows how to tell what will rust and what won't. Unless we are very careless and bang the pot around to chip off the coating, I don't think our pot will rust. Don't let the claim of the pot rusting scare you away from purchasing this rice cooker, in my opinion.

Great cooker, bad pot (coating flakes off in 2 minutes)
3/5

3 yrs. This rice cooker produces excellent results and has been in use for nearly a decade. So, why are there three stars? Because the inner cooking pot has a 3-year lifespan. When the coating starts to flake off, rusty spots appear. I've already replaced the inner pot twice in the time I've had this cooker, and I'm considering doing so again or buying a new one; I wouldn't buy Zojirushi again. The cooking pot's durability is poor, especially given its high price. br>For the record, a replacement inner cooking pot costs $68 on the Zojirushi website right now.

While it has a nice appearance, upgrading to an induction heating model is not necessary
3/5

I grew up in Asia, and rice is my daily staple food; I've owned a variety of rice cookers over the years, including National, Panasonic, Aroma, Hitachi, Tiger, and Zojirushi, among others. This one in particular piqued my interest because everyone has been raving about how much better this new induction heating technology cooks rice than older rice cookers. I'm curious as to what the difference is. The difference, in my opinion, is barely discernible. Yes, I agree that Zojirushi rice cookers make rice that is far more fluffy and moist than any other non-Zojirushi rice cooker. Rice cookers from the Zojirushi brand. However, I do not believe that spending a few hundred dollars more on Zojirushi's induction cooking technology is worthwhile. It's a ploy to get people to buy something. Stop there if you have any regular Zojirushi or Miacom, Neuro Fuzzy Zojirushi models. Unless you have a lot of money and don't know what to do with it, there aren't any significantly better cooked rice options.

It also does a fantastic job
5/5

However, it is not cheap. This thing makes perfect rice, and you get exactly what you pay for. My wife and I eat a lot of rice-based meals, so even though I'm not a fan of unitaskers (calm down, Alton Brown), this rice cooker makes my life easier and does an excellent job. It is, however, pricey, and Zojirushi is the creme de la creme. creme de la creme of rice cookers, so I'm glad there's one that has induction heating but isn't too pricey in the $300-$500 range. The range of 400 dollars. It's very simple to clean, and I've tried a variety of rice styles and types on it, and it's always perfect. single. time. . , and that's what you're paying for at the end of the day. You are paying to never have to think about how to cook rice again in your life. Is it worth $200-$300 to you? Is it ish bucks? It's true, you're right. br>br>Because my wife (and she would agree) is terrible at cooking rice on the stove, I end up doing the majority of the cooking in our house (I'm the husbando). My wife loves Zojirushi because it encourages her to cook, even if it's just a simple meal, and she always remarks on how nice the room smells when rice is cooking. Even though cooking rice is such a simple task, it makes it enjoyable for her, and there's something to be said for that. br>br>ON THE OTHER HAND, THIS MODEL IS INTENDED FOR TWO PEOPLE. If you do a lot of international cooking (Asian, Indian, etc. ) where the main food is served on top of a rice base, 3 people is the absolute maximum. If you only need a few servings (think side dishes), you can squeeze four into a single container. It yielded 5 servings. It also plays Twinkle, twinkle, little star, which is gangsta as %*@!
