Questions & Answers

Is ShinNongshim Black compatible with this?

This method works with the large package of shin black instant noodles:

Is it possible to make rice with this?

Yes, you should be able to cook rice in this item. Cooking rice in the microwave, in my experience, necessitates constant monitoring to prevent it from boiling over. Quick tip: try cooking at a lower wattage percentage like 80% to stop the boil over.

What's the best way to cook the noodles?

Pour enough water into the bowl to fill it to the recommended level. Add the noodles and cook in the microwave for the time specified, depending on the wattage of your microwave.

Is it necessary to break the ramen brick or does it all fit together? What about in the microwave? How long does it take?

My ramen blocks, which range in size from small to large, always fit. I suppose you could break them up if they're particularly large, but that's not really a problem, is it? In terms of cooking, I used room temperature water and cooked it for 7 minutes on high in the microwave. FYI - REMOVE THE COVER IF YOU'RE MICROWAVING. Leaving the top open is all that is required. (Try this for yourself if you don't believe me: ) I microwaved it on a paper plate in case it bubbled over.

It's not to- Microwaves, however, are fantastic
3/5

The handles on this bowl make it easy to remove from the microwave without getting burned. Unfortunately, it isn't really a "to-do" list. as stated in the advertisement The two lid pieces that should hold the vegetables and other items together do not snap together. They can be placed together, but if you pick them up by the top handle, they will separate. This is especially inconvenient when the lid is placed on the bowl and the bottom half of it becomes stuck. The lid also lightly snaps to the bowl at the handles, but only lightly, and does not provide a water seal. I wouldn't put this bowl in my bag the same way I wouldn't put any of my other plastic items. It would fall apart and cause a shambles.

This is something I'm glad I got
4/5

Overall, this ramen cooker has exceeded my expectations. I cooked my ramen with water at the top line for about 4 minutes and then covered it loosely. I read some of the other reviews on this site, and a few of them stated that the cover should not be used when microwaving. I can see how the lid with the handles could be a tight fit, and removing it could cause the hot bowl to topple over. While cooking, I had left it on loosely. This bowl was simple to clean and did not have an oily feel to it. Unlike the previous rapid ramen cooker I purchased, the surface did not peel. br>The information in the description is incorrect! This bowl is supposed to come with a spoon, but I couldn't find it. No spoon is included, according to what I read somewhere else. There is a typo in the description.

This is fantastic
5/5

The plastic is very durable. The small bowl is ideal for cooking a block of ramen with vegetables, water, and whatever protein you desire. There is a lot of space, and the handles are sturdy. It appeals to me. Oatmeal will love it. It's fantastic. Oh, and it's not dyed either. I used it to cook red cabbage, and it's still as cute as the day I bought it. Simply fantastic.

Perfect for raman in your own home
4/5

The bowl is the perfect size for a single raman but big enough for two. The design is a bit wacky and deceiving. You'll be tempted to cook with the lid on. Don't. If you cook without a cover, it will boil over and make a mess in your microwave. The flat brown "lid" isn't even close to being a lid. Its sole function is to keep condiments inside the clear lid for transportation and possibly storage in the refrigerator. But 90 of us do not carry hard cooked eggs, scallions, broccoli, or carrots in our soup bowl (like in the picture), so it is ineffective. When cooking, avoid attempting to place the smaller brown lid inside the bowl - BAD idea! br>br>As a result, the bowl is fantastic and deserving of my four-star rating. The other two pieces will most likely be thrown out.

It's a lot bigger than it appears on the surface
4/5

It appeared to be too small at first, but it isn't. When you heat the ramen in the microwave, there's no way to vent the steam, which is strange. If you plan on making instant noodles with it, it's a good buy. The chopsticks are particularly amusing. My grandkids eat cheetos out of it. You do not need to be a chopsticks expert.

Microwaving at home is an excellent option
4/5

I'm not sure what the lid is all about. It isn't completely watertight. So, if you're transporting dry ingredients and adding water right before microwaving, I believe it'll be fine. The bowl is appealing to me. It has enough room for my square dry ramen. Extra frozen vegetables and frozen meatballs are thrown in for good measure. I've been leaving the lid off so far because I've heard that if the lid is on, it spills. It was never put to the test by me. I simply turned it off. My other microwave soup bowl is made of a thicker plastic. It fits nicely in my small microwave thanks to the two small handles, and I haven't tried the included chop sticks yet. And I'm not sure what the point of the round lid that's supposed to go on the "bottom of the other lid?" is. "But, hey, it was cheap enough that I can ignore that part. " Otherwise, this bowl will be used for noodles or something similar on a daily basis in my house. HUGS.

The only part that is useful is the bowl! It took a week longer than expected to arrive
3/5

Chopsticks are completely useless in this situation. I tossed it in the trash. The bowl and lids are sturdy and not flimsy in construction. The grey lid is used to cover the outer lid, which is where you store your vegetables, rather than the bowl. The outer lid only has a smidgeon of coverage over the bowl. There is no way to keep the air out. I can't use either of the lids. I like the side handles on the bowl because they make it easier to remove the bowl from the microwave without burning your fingers. I'm keeping it because the bowl is lightweight, the size (width and depth) are just about right with enough room to add veggies, tofu, and boiled egg (I add the egg after removing it from the microwave), and it serves the purpose of cooking noodles in the microwave. It also has two side handles that make it easier to remove it safely from the microwave.

This is a fantastic ramen stand
5/5

It's simple to use and clean. I believe it is safe to put in the dishwasher if placed on the top shelf. It aids in the preparation of instant ramen. All I do is heat the water and pour it over the noodles. Fits small square packs of ramen, not large circle packs. And if there are any leftovers, simply break the ramen to fit.
