So I wanted this primarily to cook rice and pasta, but after reading a review that said it was terrible for cooking food and that the heating element in the bottom burns like crazy, I was a little concerned. I decided to give it a shot anyway, and boy am I glad I did. This made cooking rice a breeze; all I had to do was follow the instructions in the booklet. The only thing that isn't specified, but should be obvious to anyone who has cooked starchy foods before, is that you must stir it frequently to prevent it from burning. If you don't stir the rice and pasta enough, it will burn on any cooking utensil. I set a timer for every 5 minutes and haven't had any issues with my rice burning, and I'm excited to try pasta next. If necessary, I'll revise this post. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I adore this small pot and use it frequently to cook pasta and hard boiled eggs. Almost any dish that requires a lot of cooking and boiling water can be prepared in this pot.

Because there is no med/low simmer setting, you can only pour hot water on Ramin noodles and that's it. Off/high is more accurate than verifiable temperature dial. Oh, and did I mention that it's mostly made of plastic (which isn't good for you)? Heat and plastic don't mix.

I thought it was too big when I first got it, but I packed it up and it didn't take up any space because I was able to stuff things inside of it to maximize my space. I was blown away by how quickly it came to a boil!! I used it to store my filtered coffee packets before filling it with soup for a light lunch or dinner. After that, I kept it on the counter and used it for rice and pastas when I got home. It's as quick as a microwave!!.

Great for hard boiled eggs, pasta, and heating up water for drinks. I did cook tomato sauce in it for the pasta, but it got under the rubber ring around the bottom heating plate, which I didn't notice until I went to cook pasta again and burnt tomato sauce remnants came up from under the rubber ring. So it's not ideal for soups and sauces, but it's a solid little pot that quickly boils water.

Hot plates, carafe coffee pots, and anything else that heats up are prohibited at my daughter's college. I bought it for her so she could make soups, teas, and hot cocoa without having to use the Kuerig. I went ahead and bought a second one for home and a third one for my office because she loves it so much and it works so well!.

This product is fantastic because of its ease of use and convenience factor. It's not the easiest item to clean because it's not completely submersible, and it unfortunately still smells like soup after the first use. In the end, I believe it is a very useful and effective multi-tasking tool. item with a specific function It is strongly suggested.

" All I wanted was a small hot pot to heat up at my desk so I could make tea. This unit, however, has a design flaw that makes it difficult to clean. A slightly separated metal platform, round in shape and slightly raised, sits in the center bottom of the interior. I don't see any kind of physical gasket running around the inside edge of this platform, which makes me wonder about the safety of leaving water in the pot for any length of time, and the "adjustable heat knob" doesn't actually heat until it's turned all the way on. The idea of it being adjustable is thwarted in this way. I decided to slow heat a can of ready-to-eat chili because I had the time. I set the heat to the lowest setting so that it made the sound of water heating and then turning off every minute or so, and the container took an hour and a half to heat. I noticed a ring shape on the metal plate when I removed the food container, which was made of microwave-safe plastic. During cleanup, it was a little tricky to get rid of. Never use any kitchen cleanser, sos, dobie pads, or other mildly abrasive aid on the metal plate, according to the appliance manufacturer's instructions!.
