I gave this rice cooker three stars because of the following issue: five stars for the most delicious rice I've ever had, but two stars for the rice becoming watery and browning after five to ten hours. I'd like to try something more expensive, but my concern is that if the problems remain the same, it will be a waste of money if I pay a high price for something that fails to meet my expectations. Is it possible for the cuckoo company to resolve this issue, or are there any other rice cookers that do not have this issue? I mean, it has to be a tasty rice cooking method like this one that keeps the rice white, and if anyone knows about it, please share any information or comments you have.
Back in December, I purchased this item. 2019; however, it no longer cooks after less than a year, despite the absence of an error message. It just keeps running, but the rice isn't even cooked. I requested that Amazon send the Warranty Product to me in two weeks, but I have yet to receive it. I also contacted the Product Service Department to see what they could do to assist me with the problem. They were willing to fix it; however, I will be responsible for the shipping costs, which are not insignificant. I'm a little disappointed with this product and its customer service, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a rice cooker.
White rice is one of my favorite dishes to prepare. My rice has never tasted so good, but I had to return it because after four days, my white rice turns brown and has a strange odor. I didn't expect to be awake for 6 hours.
That rice was delicious, but the inner pot's teflon was chipped, so it had to be discarded. Well, I was only sad until I plugged this baby in and she spoke to me in Korean and said something wonderful! I was worried it would be overly complicated at first, but it isn't; It's really simple to use. And the rice! It's even better than my old National. It's also quick: white rice takes 30 minutes, brown rice takes an hour. And don't forget about the Nurungi. Wow! That has become my new favorite pastime. I don't usually write reviews, but I adore my Cuckoo and believe that everyone should own one. The money spent was well spent.
This rice cooker, in my opinion, is adequate. The rice results are rife with inconsistencies. I don't think it's the best cooker for Jasmin rice if you eat a lot of it. It works well with brown and GABA rice, as well as short grain rice. It doesn't work well with the special crunchy bottom rice, which is more chewy than crunchy and, I believe, harmful to my teeth enamel. The pressure gauge does not appear to be working properly. It used to be silent while cooking until the pressure was released, but now it simply cooks with the release valve almost fully open. The inside steel plate, which can be removed for cleaning, has a very short silicone coating that makes it difficult to remove without using a dry cloth to grip it. This same plate falls into the rice on a regular basis while cooking, so I believe the silicone gasket that holds it in place isn't working properly. I despise opening my rice cooker to find this plate sitting directly on top of my rice, and there are a slew of other minor annoyances. When my rice turns grey, I despise it even more. I'm not sure why it does it only once in a while. Perhaps I'm not thoroughly washing the rice. However, in all of my rice-cooking experience, I have never had grey rice with any other cooker. So I'm concerned about the chemicals in my grey rice. br>br>I've had this cooker for over a month, and I prefer the rice from my old fuzzy logic Zojirushi rice cooker. The newer Cuckoo has a faster cooking time and, thanks to the high pressure, cooks a better brown and GABA rice. Brown, on the other hand, isn't something we eat all that frequently. br>br>I'm thinking of replacing it with a Zojirushi and saving it for when I need to make brown rice. Overall, it was a letdown. The Cuckoo excels at the two things that my old cooker lacked, but I'm not sure it was worth it to forego quality white (rather than grey) rice.
It's really nice, and it's well made. There's a little bit of a learning curve in figuring out all the functions, but once you do, it's fantastic. We have a very active household, so the main reason we bought it was because it claims to keep rice warm and fresh for hours, if not days. Even after 38 hours, the rice looks and tastes as if it was just cooked a few minutes ago. I haven't tried any of the other functions yet, but I plan to do so soon. It was well worth it.
But I'm not sure $280 is worth it. I eat rice on a daily basis, so having a good rice cooker is essential for me. After years of using an InstaPot pressure cooker, I decided to upgrade. br>In terms of flavor, I don't think the $200 price difference over InstaPot is justified. I'm not sure if I'm still used to the amount of water this cooker requires. Only time will tell if this is true. Having said that, the "Keep warm" feature on this cooker is one of my favorites. The rice's flavor barely changes after a full day, and it still tastes good after another day or two. Because the same function on InstaPot always overcooks the rice, I had to keep the leftover rice in the freezer.
Everything was a breeze once I switched the settings to English. Also, set the warming function to the lowest heat setting (76 or something) for long-lasting rice. I use it almost every day to keep my rice from browning and to give it a great flavor for over 30 hours. It's also super easy to clean, and just like a car, you'll want to keep it clean to ensure a long supply of delicious rice, which is simple because it's mostly just wiping the inside and clearing it of dropped rice grains, as well as ensuring the rubber doesn't mold. Purchasing food products has proven to be the most satisfying investment.
