Questions & Answers

If the lid isn't removable, how will it fit into the dishwasher? Is there a way to get the glass beaker inside to slide out?

It comes with the following cleaning instructions: "Before using the Microwave Whistling Tea Kettle, wash it with soap and warm water. Safe to put in the dishwasher. To remove soap residue, rinse the whistle after washing. The glass beaker can be lifted out if the lid is fully opened. Because it should only be used to heat water, according to the instructions, I don't think it's necessary to wash it in the dishwasher unless the person who uses it has been sick. Mineral deposits from the water would leave a white residue inside the glass after repeated use. Allow white vinegar to sit in it for a few hours before rinsing and washing it as usual to get rid of them.

Is there a way to transport it without it spilling or leaking?

The lid has a tight seal, but there is a hole on top that can whistle when boiling. It may leak if it falls over.

What is the maximum wattage of microwave power that this tea kettle can handle?

I'm not sure, but I believe my microwave is fairly powerful, and I set it to high until the water boils. This kettle is one of my favorites. The handle does not overheat. Nothing has broken because I have fallen to the floor. "The glass is light (borosilicate? )," says the narrator. ) and I would make no changes to this product.

Do you steep your tea in this kettle, or is it just for heating water?

In general, a fantastic kettle that could use a few tweaks
5/5

The fact that the water is heated in a glass beaker appeals to me. I don't like water cooking in contact with plastic, whether I have BPH or not. A for the use of glass. I like how the plastic holder and handle don't get hot. This is an A. br>br>It's time to improve the lid that pivots on a hinge. A thumb tab on the back of the lid allows you to open and close it. When the lid is fully opened, this thumb tab slides down into the plastic handle. The issue is that each side of the thumb tab has a plastic nub that makes it nearly impossible to get the thumb tab down into the handle and then up out of the handle to close the lid. br>br>Unfortunately, the thumb tab must be pushed down into the handle to open the top wide enough to clean the glass beaker and fill it with water before heating it. br>br>I FIXED THE PROBLEM BY FILING THE PLASTIC NUBS DOWN TO THE POINT WHERE THE LIDS OPENED AND CLOSED WITH MINIMAL RESISTANCE. It only took a few minutes to complete this task. I used a regular file, but I believe a nail file could also be used, though it would take a few minutes longer. br>br>I believe the problem stems from poor quality control in the Chinese factory that produces these. It's simple to fix this flaw, but I don't expect to have to modify a product in order to make it usable when I buy something new. It's possible that only a few mugs have this flaw, leaving the majority of them in good condition. br>br>The only other issue I have is that when the lid is pushed all the way down before heating, it can be difficult to pull up out of the glass beaker when the water is hot. However, if I only push it halfway into the beaker, it is easy to open when it comes out of the microwave. br>br>This could be a safety hazard. When the lid is pushed all the way in and difficult to remove when the container is filled with hot water, a person may use force and end up splashing boiling hot water all over the place. br>br>I would recommend that the manufacturer make a minor redesign to ensure that the lid does not get stuck in place when it is hot, and that anyone buying this be careful not to push the lid all the way in before heating. br>br>I believe that the manufacturer should address these two issues, either by making minor product changes or by improving factory quality control. Adding measurement lines to the glass beaker would make it easier to add exactly the amount of water I want to heat. br>br>One improvement I'd like to see is the addition of measurement lines to the glass beaker to make it easier to add exactly the amount of water I want to heat. I'm currently experimenting with permanent marker, but this would be a significant improvement and would be relatively simple to implement in the factory. br>br>To summarize, I believe this is the best all-around microwave kettle I've found. The basic design is miles ahead of anything else I've seen. I'd say it's a little on the pricey side for what it is, but it's worth the few extra dollars to get a better product; however, they must address the issues I listed. br>br>Overall, I like it so much that it was worth it to me to buy it and then deal with the issues rather than settle for an inferior design, but I'm hoping that either this company fixes these issues or a competitor comes out with a design with a glass beaker and handle that doesn't get hot but doesn't have the issues mentioned above.

Great product, but open the hot lid with caution
5/5

This was delivered to me recently. I have a very small microwave that I had to cram into it. After a little more than 5 minutes, the whistling began. When the lid isn't opening easily, be careful not to press down too hard with your thumb unless you're using the other hand to keep it from flipping open too quickly. If you push down too hard with your thumb and the lid flips up, it will go too far and may damage the device, as well as spill some hot water on your hand.

Heats water for a cup of tea very well
5/5

This was purchased as a replacement for my electric hotpot for heating water. It performs admirably. The white part of the picture is a plastic frame that looks odd but functions admirably. It prevents you from touching the hot glass part of the water heater. The kettle will whistle, but I'm not interested in hearing it. I can make a cup of team quickly and easily now that I know how much water to put in and how long to heat it for, and the microwave turns off long before the water boils. I'd probably buy it again if it was broken.

A minor adjustment is required
5/5

I had to switch to decaf and can't stand instant, but I only drink one cup a day and didn't want to invest in a single serve machine, so I use this with a cone filter over my coffee cup and it works great. The thumb tab that fits into the top of the handle was the only thing that bothered me. It was dangerous to open it with hot water inside because it was so tight. I used a box cutter to carefully shave off the little bumps on each side of the tab, and it's now perfect; I only need it half-filled, the pot whistles in three minutes, and I'm ready to go.

It's fantastic! LOVE IT! Every day, I use it to make coffee by boiling water in the microwave
5/5

Oatmeal is another use. I usually use it at work in the microwave. br>br>It boils in the microwave before I can hear it make noises. I got tired of watching it, so I'm waiting for the whistle now to come get it, but it's still working fine. The water begins to boil, and I am free to use it as I please.

This is ideal for pouring
5/5

during a cup of coffee This is what I use to warm up water for pouring. When I only need a single cup of coffee, I prefer it to a pod system because it is less wasteful and easier to clean than a drip brewer. In my 1100W microwave, it takes almost 5 minutes to heat this up to the maximum line, and because I only use it to heat water, it doesn't need to be cleaned very often. Whistle is effective, and I can easily hear it over the microwave (my new microwave is significantly louder than my old 800W). On Amazon, you can find a variety of microwavable kettles. Because some of the others had issues with the handle becoming too hot or even melting, I decided to purchase this one. I microwaved this one for 6 minutes at full power, and the handle remained comfortable and cool to the touch.

Don't be in a hurry if it's being delivered through Amazon Prime
5/5

The teapot is ideal and does exactly what I need it to do. Simply fill the microwave with water, place a tea bag on top of the lip with the tag over the lip and held in place by the lid, and microwave until the tea is ready. Remove it from the microwave and swirl it around until the tea has reached the desired strength, which is easy to do because the tea is visible through the glass. It's as simple as that. The Amazon Prime shipping, on the other hand, is terrible. It took 5 days for it to be delivered. It was supposed to ship in two days because it was a Prime item. If there's a way to avoid Prime shipping, take advantage of it.

It's a nice, small microwave pitcher that whistles
5/5

Making hot water in the microwave for my pour-over coffee maker is a great way to save time. above the coffee pot This pitcher would be perfect if it had fluid ounce markings, and to those who say it doesn't whistle - Mine does, but I believe the lid must be firmly pressed down to form a seal, and the water must be brought to a boil and held there for a few minutes. The whistle, I believe, is caused by a build-up of pressure. This is why, in order to create a seal, the lid must be pushed all the way down. This young man appeals to me - The size is ideal, and it functions well. It is also reasonably priced.
