That, however, was only for a short time. One week ago, I bought a 7" fire Santoku. This morning, I was dicing some scallions and the back of the knife fell apart. br>br>Edited review: For some reason, my initial review was censored. My original assessment remains valid.
TOM- It would be a blunder not to purchase one. I adore all of our TUO knives, especially this one. br>It comes razor sharp, and after a little TLC with a honing steel, it's back to being absolutely perfect. br>I keep control of this knife by pulling it across the meat or vegetables and letting the blade do the work. It's actually a lot of fun to use. AND - $30 or so? br>If you're looking for kitchen knives, I wouldn't bother with a more expensive brand; I don't see how a Henkle or Wusthof would be any better unless I'm impressing my neighbors rather than actually cooking. br>We also give these as gifts on a regular basis.
Two Amazon knife purchases have made me extremely happy. The Santoku 7" knife is used to cut vegetables, while the black knife is used to cut fruits. I've been using a Santoku knife for over 6 months now, and I cut my vegetables with it every day. It has performed admirably and remains in good condition. The handle is designed to be extremely comfortable to hold. It's also lightweight and simple to maintain. In the future, I'd like to purchase more pieces from this series.
There is a huge gap between the bolster and the handle. The steel, which hangs over the handle and is sharp and dangerous, overhangs the handle. Quality control is extremely poor. This knife is not one I would recommend.
The handle is lovely, and the knife, in comparison to high-end brands, is quite thin. It is, without a doubt, the sharpest knife I have ever used. The duration of the edge will be put to the test. It's comfortable to hold in your hand.
These knives must not be handled by a "young chef. " You're cut even if you just brush up against the blade. br>Extremely attractive knives with a nice balance.
I wouldn't put them in the dishwasher, just a nice hand-cleaning to preserve the handle, but they're easy to sharpen and overall, a good knife for the price.
The knife was packaged in an attractive presentation box.
