Please take caution Using the inside so much causes the coating to wear off
3/5

It looks like it's been the inside coating of the kettle that I've been consuming. The coating inside is missing in some places, as I discovered this morning. Rinse the inside out only (almost never) - I do not wash the inside. So, what do you think the coating is There is no way I can do this!.

An old tea kettle that has rusted
3/5

This tea kettle has served me well over the years and it normally sits on my stove top most of the time. Recently, however, I noticed something in my tea. A line of rust has been discovered on the bottom of my kettle, after I checked out the inside of it. Since I have only owned this kettle for 6 months (shipped April 9, 2018 and today is October 23, 2018), I called customer service and they told me that their limited warranty does not cover rust. My stomach turns at the thought of that. When I spoke to the friendly customer service agent over the phone, I told her that I would be writing a review (she was very nice on the phone, but nothing she could do could Cuisinart is out of the picture!.

Four weeks after being installed, the lid leaked
3/5

As an owner of a brand like Cuisinart, I expect better. I plan to request a warranty. Here's today's update It will cost me $7 to ship in the old kettle and to pay for shipping. My only issue with the policy on warranty is that I was not satisfied with the customer service. If I had paid $7 for the replacement, I would have happily used it instead, but at this rate, I'll probably buy a new one from another brand instead.

Rust immediately ruins the design
3/5

It is amazing that this design was destroyed by rust so quickly. I was satisfied with this kettle and I would buy it again. It was rust-free for perhaps five years before it rusted The number of uses is 7. It happened to us before with other inexpensive kettles and we argued that it was because we left water in the kettle too long. Our attempt with this sample was to properly dry it by pouring out any remaining water as soon as possible. But it didn't prevent the bottom from rusting. *Not very happy. *Not very happy. This brand will no longer be used by me.

Despite being used weekly for a year, there is no sign of rust
4/5

My video camera has been using this for almost a year and I've seen plenty of horrible reviews about rust but my camera is still free of it. There have been no problems with it so far. It did come with care instructions that I followed properly, such as not boiling the water on the high setting, but on the medium or medium-low instead I never used the dishwasher and I did not clean my pots after every use (if it was just water). I simply washed it on high and left the lid off before leaving the top on at the end. In the case of not using it, I place it on an open shelf There is no water in it when I store My use of it does not occur Every once in a while. One of the few kettles I have that has not rust is one of the ones I have had a lot before. It's hard for me to tell if I got lucky or if the instructions weren't followed correctly.

It rusts quickly due to its poor design
3/5

When our 10 year old kettle broke after being dropped on the floor, we decided it was time to replace it. As soon as it was heated, this kettle began to discolor. This design is flawed because the handle becomes hot when used and the water needs to be poured into a mug with a potholder. It was rust on the lid and on the inside of the kettle that was the last straw. What a waste of time after having a kettle last for so long without any problems. This will be the last kettle brand we will use.

The kettle you're about to buy is a dud
3/5

It was only a little over a month ago that I bought it and last night I noticed the top of where The return window has closed and now I have a kettle I cannot use any longer, because I'm afraid the water may have melted plastic chemicals in it. It's a pain.

Induction cooktops are great, but direct heat and radiant heat cooktops are not so great
5/5

My kettle has been with me for over 5 years and I have used it twice a day since then. The 1-hour limit was exceeded three times every day without any issues being cited based on the 1-hour limit The majority of reviewers gave it 4 stars. I agree with the majority of negative reviews. However, the positive reviews were very specific as opposed to the negative reviews which said the kettle looked nice. Though I think it looks great, I do have praises for the negative reviewers, because I think I have a partial answer for why some of us have had good luck and others haven't had so much luck. In the first place, who ever reads the instructions on the kettle? There was a number of reviewers who boiled water on the recommended setting and it appeared that they did fare better than the rest of us who crank the heat so we can get a quick boil for that first cup of tea or the morning cup of Joe. Obviously, boiling water bruises tea leaves (my Dad really loved his tea, so I know that boiling water bruises tea leaves)

So why have we had such varied My quick answer is that I use an induction cooktop rather than an electric or gas burner that directly heats the food. It was the induction-friendly nature of this kettle that attracted me to it. In spite of the fact that it is made of a stainless steel, its chromium content is lower and its carbon content is higher By the way, if you keep stainless steel wet for long enough, it will rust more. And oh yeah, stainless steel will rust too, if you keep it too wet. Even stainless steel occasionally requires a bit of air to function properly. The induction that is used in an induction vessel will not produce the high temperatures within the container that would be generated by a directly impinging heat source. Due to the combination of high heat stress and better carbon content, I believe that those who complained of overheated kettle handles and premature rust have a valid complaint. I think the reviewer who stated the handle burned off and fell into the kettle needs to install an extinguisher system for their residential stove. As a fire fighter, I am also qualified to speak on this subject

To sum up, this kettle works great when used on an induction cooktop, but it is not as practical when using convention stovetop heat sources to boil water quickly.
