The top can be washed in the dishwasher, but the bottom must be washed by hand.
The top appears to be made of ceramic that has been fired at a high temperature. There is no risk of lead poisoning or unsafe cooking in this case. It's easy to tell the difference, and you'll notice the difference in quality once you see it.
I'm pretty sure I didn't get the recipe book from Facebook.

I ordered two different tagine pots from Amazon and tried them out right away before returning one and keeping the lovely Uno Casa Tagine Pot. The tagine I returned had a capacity of 4 quarts. Despite its size, the Uno Casa 3 easily accommodated it. 65 qt. pot . What a strange coincidence! The Uno Casa tagine arrived in lovely packaging, making it ideal for gifting (though this was a present for myself). lol). The only thing that bothered me was the lack of an e-book that I could download. It was supposed to come with a book, but it never arrived. Although there is a QR code for the cookbook inside the box, I was directed to a tortilla cookbook rather than a tagine cookbook when I scanned it. I sent a message to the seller via Amazon, but it went unnoticed. After a few days, I went to the Uno Casa website and emailed them. The company responded with a pleasant email, which included a pdf file of the tagine cookbook. yay. We used the tagine pot for the first time a couple of nights ago, and it was fantastic! I expect the base to last a long time because it is sturdy and cooks evenly. I'll handle and store the lovely lid with care because it's ceramic. I'm very happy with my purchase, and I'm glad I didn't go for a clay/terra cotta pot that would have needed a diffuser and would have cracked anyway. This one gets two thumbs up!.
I bought a fully ceramic tagine but never used it because of numerous reviews warning that ceramic tagines, even when used with a heat diffusor, are prone to cracking on electric stoves like mine. br>Take a look at this bad boy, which has a cast iron body and a ceramic top. Because it's made of cast iron, it's virtually indestructible: Simply place the body on the stove and sauté whatever you require (e. g. , mushrooms). , almonds in the photo), brown your meat over high heat, then reduce the heat to a low enough for the tagine to gently simmer the rest of the way without cracking. br>Despite the fact that I have a lot of cast iron pots (see photo), I'm still not sure if the insides have a rough ceramic coat or if the naked iron has been properly preseasoned. But I'm pretty sure it's not a nonstick coating made of plastic. Although it does not scratch when used with hard utensils, I can assure you that cleaning it is a breeze. I've cooked with this tagine about ten times in the months I've had it, and I'm thrilled with it: You'll have it for a long time if you take care of the ceramic (and conveniently light) top. 65- With a quart capacity, you can feed a family of four with hearty appetites or leave plenty of delicious leftovers for two. The photos show a chicken tagine with olives and dried apricots, a lamb tagine with apricots and prunes, and the preparations for making the lamb tagine, as well as a photo of all the Dutch ovens to establish some street cred regarding my comments about the cooking surface. This piece can hang with the best of my cast iron. br>Again, a highly recommended tagine!.
seasoned. The color combination is fantastic. I made pot roast with potatoes, onions, and carrots the first time I used it. The meat was extremely tender and flavorful! This product has wowed me, and I can't wait to try another recipe; I'll also be checking out this seller's other cooking tools in the future.
This tagine is absolutely delicious! I normally cook in ceramic tagines, but I didn't want to risk breaking the base this time, so I went with cast iron. It was the best decision I could have made! I cooked one of our traditional Moroccan tagine recipes right away after receiving it, and it was delicious. Unlike ceramic tagines, this one does not require seasoning. Also, unlike some other brands, which are outrageously priced, the price is reasonable!.
The conical ceramic lid circulates steam while the heavy cast iron base keeps it warm. It's suitable for both the stovetop and the oven. I've used it three times now for various stews and they've all turned out beautifully. This is how northern Minnesotans can beat the winter blues!.
This tagine is very utilitarian and works as well as other models that are much more expensive. All of the flavors of the dish were captured in a large cast iron cooking pot that was easy to clean and had a heavy ceramic lid.
The cast iron base is particularly appealing to me. It's simple to clean, season, and use. The first dish we prepared was absolutely delectable; I'm eagerly anticipating the next installment!.
Before I ordered it, I wish I had done some research and looked up the weight. I returned it the day before yesterday, the same day I received it, and ordered a tagine from a different company; I have a small Staub tajine that I love, but I needed something a little bigger. Unfortunately, the Uno Casa option did not work out for me. However, the price is reasonable, the red cooking mitts are attractive, and a tagine cookbook is available for download. If weight isn't an issue, I recommend it. And, while I have a lot of cast iron pots and skillets, this tagine was a little too much for me.
