Questions & Answers

Is there a difference in cooking between a clay and a stainless steel tagine, or if you've used both?

Clay, on the other hand, necessitates a significantly higher temperature. In addition, clay pots require more maintenance than stainless steel pots. This one is made of stainless steel, and I've used it a lot. It was an excellent investment for me.

Is it really 16" wide? That'll take up both a large and small burner on a regular electric stove and won't fit on either. Is this something to be concerned about?

Hello,br>I just measured mine and it's 10 inches wide at the base and 14 inches wide at the top flange where the lid sits. We've never had a problem with space on our 30in stove. It's a well-made cooker, and we've used it to prepare some delicious Moroccan cuisine.

What country did it originate from?

China

Where does this come from?

Cooks Standard Premium Grade Multi-Ply Clad Stainless Steel 18-Inch Pan Made in China ten. The bottom of the cooking pan has this written on it.

Fantastic! I've wanted a tagine for a long time but was afraid of the all-ceramic sets and didn't want to pay for the Le Crueset set, despite the beautiful colors
5/5

When this one went on sale for a limited time, I took a deep breath, bit the bullet, and snatched it up. click. WOW! br>br>The base pan is worth the price on its own: heavy stainless steel, deep enough for soups and stews, handles, oven safe to 500 degrees, glass lid included- This is a lovely and useful addition to my collection of cookware. br>br>The conical top is white, which isn't my favorite color, but it looks great. It's also sturdy and well-built. I was concerned about the fragility of ceramic, but this top is far from fragile; it is neither flowerpot nor stoneware dish ceramic. This thing is big and strong, and it will most likely outlast me. Although I was disappointed that the mushroom top lacked a venting hole, the tagine's instruction manual suggested inserting a fork or spoon into the side to provide a vent. Although it isn't perfect, the rest of the ensemble is so good that I am satisfied. br>br>I'm ecstatic with this set and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique multi-purpose cooking technique, a great gift, or a way to expand their kitchen repertoire.

This is the most beautiful Tangine I've ever seen
5/5

I knew this beauty would be incredible the moment I started unpacking it. Quality was obvious even from the packaging! Simply wonderful. It cooks beautifully and is one of the few pieces I have on display. It's also great for the oven because it has a tempered glass lid that can withstand temperatures up to 500 degrees. It's the perfect size; it holds a lot without being too big; buy it and impress your dinner guests. Tangines are my go-to roasting and braising vessel because the food stays so moist, and they're a great value for a multi-clad cooking vessel. Winner.

My kitchen has a fantastic new addition! I chose this tagine after doing a lot of research because I like the idea of clay tagines but didn't want to risk them breaking
4/5

This is a significant amount of information. It was larger than I had anticipated in my mind, but once I made a lamb and vegetable tagine, I was grateful for the extra space. It turned out to be a fantastic dish. My family immediately commented on how tender the meat was. I had cooked the dish for four hours, but the prep work was minimal and making it all pretty was relaxing. Because of the lack of that Moroccan vibe and color, which I now realize is a big part of why I loved my trips and dining experiences in Morocco so much, I docked it one star. But I'm glad I got it because I know it'll be a workhorse in my kitchen.

Big and attractive
4/5

Stainless steel is preferable because it is more durable. I had underestimated how big it was. Love it. It would be nice if it had a tiny hole or a release valve/gasket cork to let steam out. It's more aesthetically pleasing to use a strawberry huller to create a vent to relieve pressure from accumulating steam. It's small enough that you can clip it and leave a small gap. If no steam escapes, tuck both sides of the huller beneath the cone's rim. The fact that the base is stainless steel appeals to me. It includes a clear glass lid that fits my stir fry pan as well.

It's huge and lovely
5/5

Love it! This is a massive pot - 5 quarts with a colossal diameter - That is, however, what makes it so wonderful. It's deep and stainless steel, and it comes with both a glass and a tagine lid, so if you're cooking for a family and don't need ceramic/non-stick, this is the pot for you. Stick to it, and you'll be fine. to use a pan for a variety of purposes Sauces reduce quickly thanks to the large surface area and insulated bottom, and it's even bigger than my 6. 5 qt. Dutch oven by Le Creuset. Overall, I'm very pleased with it - If you're planning on storing it in a cabinet rather than using it on the stovetop, keep in mind that it's quite large. br>br>There is one thing to keep in mind about the lid of the tagine: There is no venting hole in it. I have a friend who makes pottery, and I'm thinking about asking her to make me another lid that *does* - Although it does not appear to be a significant issue for my purposes, I believe it is worth noting.

This is the best tagine I've ever had
5/5

A clay tagine, even with a diffuser, is always at risk of cracking, no matter how careful you are. This large-capacity steel tagine allows you to cook without worry on the stovetop. It can also be finished or kept warm in the oven. It also includes a clear glass top, which is a welcome addition. You will not be disappointed, and your guests will think this is a show-stopper.

It's a colossal amount of space! I had hoped for a larger tagine, but this one is enormous
5/5

This one is almost as big as the one I bought last year, which was just too small for a normal-sized meal. I guess, like Goldilocks, I'm on the lookout for the perfect match. br>br>In any case, this is an excellent piece of cookware that is well worth the money, thanks to the additional glass lid, which makes it very versatile for all types of cooking. The ceramic tagine top is lovely, and the bottom piece is thick and sturdy. It would be nice if it had a vent hole. I should have gotten the model with handles in hindsight, but it is about 30% more $$. br>br>As a newcomer to tagines, I noticed one thing. It's not just the diameter of the bottom piece that matters, but also its depth. I wish they all listed capacity and diameter so I could find the one that's perfect for me.

This is a must have! My boyfriend is from Morocco and I am completely satisfied with this magazine
5/5

I wanted to surprise him by making a tagine dish for a date night. Spoons were made from small baguettes. We carried it to the bed and sat down to watch a movie on the projector thanks to the nice handle bars. I'm looking forward to trying out some new recipes. br>br>Unboxing this was also a pain in the neck. Within a box, within a box, inside a box, inside a box with a different box There was a lot of cardboard involved.
