I've never paid this much for ONE pot, and if I hadn't been depressed over the loss of my big boy cat, I would not have paid this much for one pot! Well, I'm glad I wasn't in my right mind because I really like this thing/brand and can see why it's so popular. After finding a cheap on sale $25 version from another brand at BJ's a week later that is actually pretty good too, but this le crueset does indeed heat evenly and sears better, it is definitely worth every penny for cooking meats, which is what I dedicated this pot only for. So far, there has been no wear and tear on the outside or inside, and food does not stick, but I do lightly spray it with olive oil or butter before heating it up, as suggested, and let it cool before cleaning it so the enamel does not crack. This pot gets very hot inside; the first time I used it, I set it to medium high and it seared the roast way too quickly/too much; it's best to stick to medium heat, which has worked well. br>br>recommend their AMAZING cleaner even if you don't buy this Dutch oven; it's magical and works on other pots as well.
I received a defective item. On the bottom, there are a few small holes. It's also thinner around those two holes, as you can tell.
Pros:
- It's extremely versatile, and I've used it to make everything from stews to soups to Chinese stir-fries so far. In terms of cooking evenly, it outperforms the standard aluminum nonstick pans that I previously used. It's especially noticeable when I'm cooking vegetables with it.
- So far, it has proven to be quite resilient. It's nonstick, so I try to avoid scraping it with metal cookware during the cooking process. However, I frequently find myself flipping and stirring with a metal spoon. I've had it for a few months now and it's still going strong.
- It looks fantastic in the kitchen, almost like a piece of art. The color is rich and vibrant, and the entire ensemble exudes elegance. Even if it appears to be a nice piece of deco when it's on the shelf. br>br>Conclusion: br>br> This pot is very appealing to me. I understand that it is more expensive than your other pans, but they all have the potential to make your food 'not raw. ' However, if you enjoy cooking in general and your kitchen in particular, you'll find that this is well worth the money.
On the same day that it was received, I returned it. I'm extremely disappointed!.
It's a fantastic product. Head is evenly distributed, it is easy to clean, and it is durable. Unfortunately, mine had a couple of pinholes when it was finished.
Exceptional quality and presentation.
It is something I employ on a regular basis. It's pricey, but it'll be the last Dutch oven I ever purchase.
