This is the second time I have purchased this and have not experienced any problems. Ideally, if you have the details of your order, a receipt, etc., you can contact the seller to see if anything However, that is just my opinion, and it may not be considered a defect by everyone. As these are designed to thread wood only, I guess it depends on the type of material you are threading. Please accept this as a helping hand.
You can buy a wide range of sizes on Amazon, some of which aren't sold by the same seller.

As well as 15/16 rods, I have problems using the 1 inch tap and die.

The pine nut threaded nicely, but the pine dowel broke into several pieces when threading. My favorite part of this project was I lathed a random piece of walnut down to 3/4" and treated it with butchers block for a couple of minutes. The pine was certainly tougher but the decarb went through and left the dowel threaded as you can see in the photo. The 15 projects I have already thought of to use this size on are already over the top, and I plan to order the other sizes for more versatility. It has been working well thus far, but we will see how long it can keep its sharpness. There appears to be space to disassemble the cutting head to sharpen it.
I bought 2 of these devices, one of this model and one of a cheaper model. It is the exact same for both. Cutting threads with the cutter continues for about five cuts before it needs to be sharpened, and only the tip of the cutter needs to be sharpened. The blade melts about one inch into the thread when sharpened twice, and after that it crumbles. Water stones from Tormek are what I use when sharpening. There was no difference between the two brands I bought. This is the best tool to buy if you need to cut threads for a vice - even if you just use it once. Buying a vintage one would be a good choice because you're going to use it a lot.
It took me a couple of days to rethread some broom handles using the wood tap and die set I bought. This worked perfectly for that purpose. In my woodshop, I have also used it to make some quickly adjustable clamps. It's a nice set of tools that works quite well. Despite their accuracy and sharpness, they cut threads smoothly and accurately. As part of my woodworking tool kit, I have found it to be a very useful addition.
Considering how much of threading is in the prep, it makes sense that good results could be expected even with an average product. The small business is my favorite, so yeah, congratulations on being one. It will also be nice to hear from someone via email regarding how this tool can be specifically used. Thanks for your kind words.
The tools will be used to make a few clamps/vices in the future, so I will update the review if the performance starts to degrade. I'm satisfied with my purchase so far and would consider purchasing it again if a different size became available.

This is an extremely easy to use program. (When using hardwoods), there did not seem to be a need for soaking or oiling the wood in the directions. I tested this on Ash, Walnut, and Mahogany, all of which came If you are using pine, I would recommend oiling it as per.
The packing boxes indicate that the sizes are in 1/4" scales from . Originally I bought two sizes, now I need the rest. To 1" up to 5 The search is limited to "5", but one cannot be located. Would you be able to tell me how to fill out my collection with additional 5" titles on Amazon or through other avenues?.
