Yes, my case was light tan in color, with foam on top and cheap plastic on the bottom. It also includes the necessary tools for adjusting them. Two mic wrenches, one small alen wrench, and two double-sided mic wrenches
Only six rods are available. I'm not sure why the site lists 12 as a number.
It is not possible to swap rods between two different micrometers. To begin with, they're most likely of different lengths. Each gage's rods should all be calibrated at the same time. I spend my entire day calibrating these gages. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.

For many years, Mitutoyo has been bringing high-quality precision hand tools from Japan into the United States. br>Their tools are great and last a long time, and this depth micrometer is no exception. It's finished in hard chrome for long wear and protection against rust as well as the abrasion and corrosion that dirty hands in the shop bring. br>The markings are crisp and black, and they stand out against the hard chrome's matt silver finish. br>The spindles are simple to change and maintain their accuracy over a long period of time. Recalibration adjustments can be difficult, but this is a problem with most depth micrometers. The tools for making adjustments are included in the box. br>In my shop, this is the standard depth micrometer, and it is preferred over all other brands, including Starrett, which is made in the United States. br>This was given to my chief machinist as a gift, but I now own three of them!.
This item was purchased on Amazon. com, and it did not let me down. The depth mic's turn moving parts were silky smooth, and Mitutoyo quality was evident throughout. It was a little on the expensive side, but well worth it. If I ever needed a good depth microphone, I'd buy it again.
This is something I use on a regular basis at work. It runs without a hitch and is extremely accurate. The extended base is ideal for determining the size of larger cavities. Any machinist in need of a precise, high-quality depth mic should consider this.
Excellent craftsmanship. The accuracy is spot on.
When it comes to mitutoyo micrometers, the quality is always exceptional.
Instead of importing from China, I should have bought this. After the low price spread, its precise repeatable readings are fantastic. When I purchased the second unit on Amazon, I knew better. What you pay for is exactly what you get.
Nice tool, calibrated right out of the box, simple to use, and I especially like the depth microphone. Because of the low-quality plastic case it comes in, I docked a star.
