Starrett is no longer Starrett
3/5

It's fine if precision isn't required. When using a 3/8 cat50, it's a little short on length (in comparison to most), but it'll do for collets. I'd never use a drill chuck to edge find. Using a . On a brand new Summit HBM110h with a 375" cat 50 holder, the edge finder was not working. 002 on a regular basis (yes, I tried other holders and tg/er32/ as well). colet holders (er40) If you're worried about accuracy, get a Brown. Sharpe. This did not live up to the Starrett name in my opinion. It appears that Starrett has been sacrificing quality in order to make too much money in other countries. This was, I believe, U. Even though it was made, it was not very accurate or of high quality. I've replaced them with nicer generics.

Perfect!! Do not try to save money by cutting corners

I ordered a $49 set of edge finders and feelers, but had to return them right away because the measurements and finish were all off. This one from Starett was exactly the right size!.

It's well-made and performs admirably

This is the seventh edge finder I've had to buy (I have a habit of breaking them), but it's the best: under ideal conditions and with caution, I've been able to pick up an edge to within 0. 0002", which is my DRO's resolution, so it could be even more precise. And, according to the packaging, they're still made in the United States.

Not bad

I did have one fall apart. br>Perhaps it was a defect because every other one I've ordered has been perfect, and I use it on a daily basis with no problems. 0001!.

It's fantastic

If you're curious, it requires a 3/8ths collet to hold. It's a two-contact edge finder, so it's the same as any other.

Starrett is a fantastic brand, and it's the only one we'd ever use in our shop
5/5

They're accurate, simple to use, a good value, and they last a long time. I only needed a new one because I had ruined the previous one.

There isn't anything new here
3/5

It's correct, but mine arrived with the impression of having been used. It works fine, but for $25 a piece, I would expect it to be brand new with strange, dark marks on the tip that cannot be cleaned, similar to those that occur naturally with an edge finder that has been used for some time. Made in the United States of America, with American craftsmanship! As a machinist, I understand the importance of having precise tools

That void is filled by Starrett. It's a fantastic edge scout. A little on the pricey side, but that's to be expected when purchasing a high-quality product. It is not a Chinese knockoff, but it is made in the United States.
