They do have a locking mechanism, though it isn't very tight; it will hold the shape for tracing but will move if pressed too hard; I don't see a problem, so I'm not going to disassemble it to see if it can be adjusted. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to put it back together. Getting in touch with the seller is the best option. One of the reasons I bought from them is that they seem to be pretty good at responding to questions or issues.

I had no idea there was such a tool until a friend recommended it; I was skeptical because of the low price and didn't understand how it would work/save me time, but man, after recently buying a new condo and needing to make exact cuts of things, changing out my floor around my door trims, putting a new trim around my bathtub faucet, and even cutting granite for a perfect fit for my countertop, this tool does it all and does it well. I used to just eye it the majority of the time and would end up spending hours on something that now only takes a few minutes of my time. This tool is essential for anyone looking to remodel their home or buy a new house.
This was a gift for my husband, and he has already put it to good use. We haven't experienced any of the 'peg' issues mentioned in other reviews, but we haven't used it very much either. This is a useful tool to have in your toolbox, in my opinion.
For fine lines, the precision is insufficient. It's just fine for outlines of general shapes.
I bought it for my son at first. law. I was able to get by on my own because it was so simple to use and worked so well. It made me very happy.
It's exactly what he'd been looking for.
This was a huge help with a last-minute Christmas project, and I would highly recommend it!.
It should come with instructions. You'd think they wouldn't be difficult to understand, but the small details that make it work properly would be extremely useful.
