It could be a mistake to use two 3/8 gages.

The gauges that were advertised did not arrive.
1. These gauges are not slotted in the same way that the ones in the picture are. It's simply a round hole through which the thumb screw passes. This is a significant distinction.
2. In addition, the plastic pouch is incorrect. It's twice the width it needs to be - the fit isn't right br>It was a huge letdown!.
When you have to take a test, it's a pain. These fillet gauges are made of stainless steel with a thin gauge. The edges are freshly stamped and fairly sharp right out of the box. It's a pain to have to modify a new product so that you don't hurt yourself. Apart from the edges, these gauges are in good condition and the sizes are clearly marked. Expect to be dissatisfied with the bolt/nut combination they provide and to come up with your own. If I ever lose or damage these, I'll most likely spend a little more money on a nicer set.
I take advantage of them to the fullest extent possible. There are no issues. I preferred the slotted gauges to the holed gauges, and they perform admirably.
These are functional, but the opposite side of these should have been marked as well. If you can find a pair with markings on both sides rather than just one, go for it. Believe me when I say that it will be well worth it.
They work.
The gauges are easy to read, the labels are large and clear, and there is a small pouch included. Any welder will appreciate this product.
This was purchased for my husband's work use. He considers it an invaluable tool in his line of work. It appeals to him a lot.
