It was an excellent solution

Most dial bore gauge kits won't read anything less than 2", which was exactly what I needed. With one exception, this kit performed admirably and everything appears to be of high quality. The gauge protector isn't even close to being a perfect fit. In fact, using it with the protector on is nearly impossible. As a result, I reduced my rating to four stars.

Shouldn't be able to complain because it works just like a dial bore gauge. The use of a vise to hold your micrometer simplifies gage setup.
