The gauge holes appear to be a little tight, making them difficult to read in bright light

These are very well made, thick, and have a nice polished finish. Under bright lights, the finish can cause a lot of glare, and the numbers are stamped (and small), making them difficult to read at times. There's nothing to be concerned about. If you're attacked, you can use these as a weapon by using the glare to blind or crack your attacker's skull. That's how heavy they are. br>It appears to me that the gauge holes are too small. I used to work as a machinist, and I understand that they aren't "go-to" people. no go" gauges, but the holes are inconsistent and do not match the average drill index, i. e. An 11 and a 29 wire gauge bit will fit in their corresponding holes without slop, but an 21 wire gauge bit will not. With the fractional one, I had a similar problem. To be fair, it could be my drill bits, or they could simply be more accurate than anything else I've tried.

Ignore the naysayers and complainers; this is a great product at a great price

This is a fantastic product; I'm 70 years old and have had two cataract operations. On both eyes, there are detached retinas. Reading numbers is not a problem. Two of them were purchased. One is for my drill press, while the other is for my toolbox. It was well worth the money. Five out of five stars.

The majority of the holes have burrs, and the entire thing is just a scrap sheet metal with roundish holes punched through it. br>Of the several drill bits I tried, none of them fit in the hole until it was deburred.
